well….i got 2 tickets to u2’s 3rd boston show, which was added 10 minutes after the 2nd boston show sold out.

of course, we needed 5 tickets.

so i’m not entirely excited about it at the moment. have to rely on the band’s word that there will be a 3rd leg of the tour in the US in the fall….

u2 has pissed off most of their die hard fans today. ticket presale – they offered 20 tickets. they HAD to have. i can’t think of any other reason why immediately at 10am the shows were sold out. the presale STARTED at 10am. most people didn’t get any tickets, olive said she got 1. ONE! what the hell is the point in that?!?! we’re paying to sign up for stupid u2.com purely for the presale and it’s a bunch of shit and no one was able to get tickets. everyone is majorly pissed off.

so yep. no tickets. will have to fight with everyone else and their brother on saturday for the public onsale. wouldn’t be surprised to get 0 tickets then either. and then we’re screwed. no u2 shows for us, cuz they’re playing all of 13 dates.

what is the matter with them.

sat with kate at denny’s til 7am. talked about u2, music, my shit, her shit, it was really nice and somehow i managed not to cry. got all excited about the tour just to end up with no tickets tho…

u2’s new video is up at, of all places, espn.com . it was aired hacked up during the orange bowl half time show. but you can stream the real version on the site. it’s cute. just a performance vid as they drive around nyc. i’m not sure i’d be able to perform on a moving flat bed…i’d probably fall off and stuff. it’s hard to stand on a moving subway train, let alone perform on a truck…props for that. but bono needs to just accept the fact he is old and losing his hair. i think he may have a weave or something now…just shave it off like the pop days man. he needs to stop still photos of him now tho…just doesn’t look good, but moving images of him, he’s still hot. haha. i was telling this to lei on the phone while on break and chuck and mary were just giving me funny looks haha. i’ve decided to prepare some sort of gift for bono…i know that’s so fan-girl of me, but JC was telling me about when he picked u2 up at the airport last tour (JC was a limo driver), and how someone gave bono this necklace she had made, and he was thrilled to death and showed EVERYONE the whole rest of the day. i realize he probably promptly lost it (cuz he loses everything) but for a few hours, that necklace was the highlight of his day. i made michael jackson a gift when i went to london, wasn’t able to get it to him though. stupid joe yennish getting run over, ruined everything lol.

fab four reunion tomorrow night. the project starts tomorrow, yay.

i’ve made the spur of the moment decision to possibly go back to school. which is a sort of weird thing to say i realize, but at this very moment i really want to go back to college and get another degree. now tomorrow, this may change and i’ll continue on in my current life lol. but right now i want to go back and get a degree in history with a museum curation concentration. just looking through the course listing i would want to take almost every class haha. so i’m going to try to find out if i would have to take all those bull shit gen-ed classes all over again, because if so, forget it hahaha.

i need to find something to eat so my headache doesn’t get any worse before everyone shows up.

my hard drive is dead/dying. so i bought a new one (120gb for 50$!) and was waiting for wednesday for brian to come install it. and of course, monday night, the power goes out….so i’m afraid to turn my comp back on incase it kills the drive for good before brian can copy it…grrr….it better work one last time.

so…i faked sick sunday night cuz work pissed me off and i went home at 9. james came over at like 2am to play in the snow. went to bed, got up, went shopping. it was a lovely day. best i had all month.

i have a box that is basically completely filled with styrofome packing noodles. the cat doesn’t like to be put in the box, but keeps leaning in to grab a noodle to throw on the floor to play with. haha. he’s crazy. and he had another growth spurt.

u2 is supposedly going to pay 9-10 songs from the new album in their new live show. i didn’t realize the album even had 10 songs. and there are probably only 4 songs TOPS that are worth playing live. you know that the songs that are going to get cut are going to be from achtung and pop…grrr…when will they realize that their best work came during their midlife crisis?!?! or else they better be planning a 3 hour show….”kite” will get cut for “sometimes you can’t make it on your own” without a doubt…”elevation” for “vertigo”…i should wait and finally do my big u2 post. or i could look at it this way, there will be 9 or 10 songs i can go to the bathroom during…

tomorrow will be spent with tim tielman, for “the project”, and then movie night. and hopefully a fixed comp.

gah…u2…snl… totally forgot til james IMed me this afternoon about it. dled them….!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

bono looked really good, and so much like michael hutchence in inxs rocks the rockies that it was scary. he didnt look old or bald yay. love love love u2. i’m totally diggin mr the edge atm too…dunno why all of a sudden lol. gah so cant wait for them to tour. not even gonna get into bono’s jacket. semi-surprised they did “sometimes you can’t make it on your own”, only because it obviously is a painful song for bono. could hardly control my own emotions watching it….

ok so the u2 album isn’t as bad as i thought it was. i like it more today. “city of blinding lights” is really good and fun. the lyrics are getting under my skin, and i think the overall cryability of this album is around a 9 a 10. need to find out if lyrics for all the songs are up anywhere yet. it’s tending to remind me more of zooropa now. a few of the songs, especially the slower ones, or ones with slow parts, remind me of “the first time”. “one step closer” really reminds me of “the first time”. just that it’s quiet and slow. but i still don’t like “one step closer”. it’ll always be the “grace” of this album lol. i like “all because of you” but it bugs me because it sounds out of tune, or bono sounds off key or something. yeah. so it’s getting better. and haha yeah, in the background of “crumbs from your table” there is some kind of sound effect that sounds siren-air-raid-like…and i keep thinking it’s the “accident horn” from durez…the whistle that would go off when the plant had some kind of accident. haha
