i wacked my head in the shower today.. i’m on a roll. i think i might have a bruise.

i wrote a note to Nestle about their sweettart flavors, since they instituted Green apple in place of lime. Lime is THE best flavor. I also complained about the blue ones cuz they taste like ass. Well I got a reply:

I’m on a roll, because I also got a response from Resnet about our slow internet connection:

The problem is that we have around 2400 people trying to use the equivalent of 24 cable modems. In addition, many are downloading MP3s and movies which are bandwidth intensive. We are working on getting more bandwidth but it does cost a lot of money. We are currently paying $60,000 for our 6 Mb/s connection. Because of a new state contract, we will be able to spend the same amount of money and get more bandwidth. However, it will not be enough to give everybody the equivalent of a cable modem. Since the price of ResNet is rolled into the room cost, we would have to raise the rate for rooms significantly to provide “cable modem” speeds to each room.

We are in the process of using a “packet shaper” to reduce or eliminate “unnecessary traffic”. Some of this traffic is the music sharing and movie sharing. If we don’t do this, we can’t use the web.

now if i could only get answers about our townhouse. was going to go look at it after class today, ask a worker (if they happened to still be working) if I could see inside ours, but it was storming so those plans got cancelled.

long weekend this weekend. eric is coming up tonight again, gonna get dinner. saturday we were invited to go to some club type thing in rochester, and amy and them are having a house warming kind of party too, so dunno what we’re going to do yet. geeze ive been here a week and have a more active social life than i have the past 3 years.
