had many dreams/nightmares. nightmares about having to call these lawyers about community service at the terminal (which i did and was horrible because it turns out all 3 lawyers are in the same office so i felt like an ass when the lady laughed at me the 2nd time i called and told her the same spiel haha). dreamed someone sent me a box of video games for wii, only they weren’t for wii…there were a few N64 games, and some PSP games, and some xbox. so since i had the games i wanted to find a cheap used xbox, but then got excited because that meant i could buy rockband. dreamed i went to a hockey game with tammy and she brought someones baby. dreamed pat and heather and i went to some performance art thing that ryan miller was doing. i had my camera, and he was telling stories to the crowd (which was small) from a balcony. and he did the thriller dance. a few other things. then we got to go up on the balcony with him, and sit on the floor while he talked and did stuff. his face wasn’t crooked in the dream ha. then he came over to the side and was putting his skates on so we were talking and i found him to be quite friendly and charming. i kept thinking that i should be taking pics of him for heather but i felt bad sticking a camera in his face. for some reason the rest of the crowd had wandered off and we were just hanging out.
houses tomorrow, haircut wednesday, dinner with lei sometime, possibly sabres alumni game at my highschool thurs. i need new shoes for work, so off to do that.
FINALLY a storm worth having a storm warning for. over 2 days we probably got about a foot, besides the 3-5 foot drifts. last night is the best night of the year at work – daylight savings, where we move the clocks ahead and i get to work only 7 hours but get paid for 8. except that, because of the storm, grave shift had 45 call ins – which is pretty much THE entire shift. so panicking that we were all going to get stuck working until noon, i signed to get out early. so i actually only worked 6 hours. i didn’t want to leave early, i wanted my 7 hours in, but i just couldn’t risk staying overtime that long. my car had about a 4 foot drift on one side, and 3 feet on the other. i almost didn’t get out of the space but i managed. roads were pretty good though, snow covered but plowed so you weren’t driving through 5 inches of snow. robert moses parkway was almost only 1 lane though because the right lane had so many drifts you couldn’t drive in it. my driveway however had snow above the front of my car.
i’ve realized that i make alot of bad decisions driving in the snow – like passing people in the unplowed lane. thankfully the results have not (yet) been disastrous.
but yay for me, my land lord decided to snow blow the driveway for only the 5th time this year at 11 am. it wouldn’t be such an issue except he snow blows it onto the house, thus onto my bedroom wall and it’s very loud. yesterday i was able to fall back asleep easily, today not so much. so i had to sleep later, now it’s quarter to 4 and i haven’t gotten ready for the day yet, and i have to go in early to help mary with toke committee stuff, so my day is pretty much wasted. no working on the hoodie today.
looking at 2 more houses tuesday, one as a courtesy to my agent but i’m not really interested in, and one on ruie that is new on the market, looks very nice despite wood paneling inside (whoever thought that was attractive, even in the 70s, is beyond me), and probably will go quicker than i could get mortgage approval if i end up wanting to buy it (and also has an asking price higher than i anticipate getting approved for, but oh well).
dream: not sure why now, but cassie gave me a drawing of The Edge that she did, and it was actually a card. inside was love letter as if written by edge to me. there was some reason she gave it to me, i was sad or something. then we were in a mass amount of people all going in the same direction, and the real edge was actually there and we walked by him and he wasn’t wearing a hat. i wanted to get him to sign the drawing of him but the crowd kept moving so i couldn’t get close to him again.
then something about me and jenn getting sabres autographs by hanging out in a bathroom someplace ha.
i started a new sewing project, a sleeveless hoodie. first try so just using the black knit adr and i got in toronto in the summer. i didn’t like the entire pattern tho so i’m leaving parts out, and i tried to lengthen the pattern but i don’t think i did it long enough still. oh well. we’ll see how it turns out. there’s alot they’re asking me to do in the instructions that i don’t know what it’s saying ha (esp the pockets). oh well. i’ll just make it up as i go along. i’m good at that.
i think something is dead in my house. no it’s not the cat. something smells bad. not the dishes, washed those. not the sink/drain. not the garbage. not the cat box. i don’t know what else it could possibly be. i’m scared to find something tho…mouse or whatever. gross.
mary – most likely 99% ditching the EC show. the venue is retarded. i emailed them to find out time and price, no response. heather emailed them, and they told her to “google it”. WTF. tried asking the band on facebook and myspace no response. so i’m not going up there with no clue about the show. they’ll be around 300 more times.
weather = shit. i only worked 2.5 hrs in attempts to avoid the worst of the ice on my car. had some cocooning my car, broke my scraper (tho it’s still usable thankfully), but made it home. i was scared to end up in a ditch because i didn’t follow my parents advice in always having at least a half a tank of gas in the car in the winter. had i been stranded, almost on empty, i would have froze to death before a tow truck got to me hahahaha. must get gas tomorrow.
tomorrow brings sabres game, dinner before hand at pearl street. thursday is 1% chance EC show, 95% chance shopping with jenn in the afternoon. and if the 99% non EC show happens, most likely doing my taxes.

my real nin download worked when i got home from work this morning. and according to nin hotline, the $300 version has sold out. so that’s $750k for trent ha. which he used to buy more servers. i wish i could bookmark the tracks i really like.
and i got a weird myspace friend request on the terminal’s account…from TVT Records A&R…wtf.
having finally gotten the ghosts package through unofficial means…almost done listening. so much makes me think of david bowie, or perhaps brian eno (tho i don’t know any of eno’s own work, just with bowie). i have a bowie cd of instrumentals of regular songs, all saints i think it’s called, and that’s what i keep thinking of.
the pdf credits list the label as “the null corporation” which i find amusing for some reason. it doesn’t appear to be a real corp, so i find it funny that they felt the need to list a label at all.
the photos are nice…nothing to write home about. i really think rob is so completely overrated by the nin community. anyone can take live photos using the burst function, and the book photos are just location…beach…desert…sky…in studio…blurry, whatever. but i still can’t figure out what iv:32 is, which was posted on the blog a few weeks ago. the one i like the most, for some odd reason, is ii:18. it reminds me of the passenger concourse ramps.
so the album…it’s all instrumentals so what can you really say. there are definitely stand out tracks – don’t ask me which they are lol – and some that are very repetitive (i can think of one from part i) that i’ll probably skip. it’s very chill, will be good background music for get togethers where you need some noise but not necessarily anyone screaming at you (which is what i use all saints for as well). i could use more piano, but that’s me. some say parts sound like old albums, but except for very few tracks i didn’t really hear it. iv:34 definitely sounds “fragile/still” era (piano!), but most sounds definitely “now”. it sounds as trent described, soundtracks to daydreams, scenes…a movie that doesn’t exist. i wonder if it’s something he put together for a year zero movie that is supposedly in the works (or is maybe no longer in the works, hence the release). who knows. all i can say is that it was a great surprise, and hopefully there are more surprises to come.
and now i await my REAL download to work, and the delivery of the special edition in may (sent to my parents house in case i move by may haha)

since it was such a gorgeous day out today, pat, phill and i went for autographs. didn’t have a whole lot of luck since there were 10 people there or so. one of the main 4 i needed, pominville, stopped so check him off the list. connolley is a bum, and even tho i had his freaking jersey with me, still won’t stop. i still need about half the team on the other poster. met bernier, who was very nice and even bigger than he seemed on tv. the other usual suspects, vanek, miller, peters stopped but alot left. we figure they got yelled at for playing like such shite yesterday.
my nin ghosts download finished, and my computer says the zip file is corrupt or invalid HA! just my luck!
*edit* not just my luck!! pretty much everyone is getting a corrupt file, or not being able to download at all. trent got my money, i don’t feel bad torrenting the entire thing until the flac dl works. tho adr1 appears to have gotten it with no problem and is listening in her classroom right now hahahah
