ue drama hahahahah

oh man this is funny. oh noes everyone hates me!!

i posted a message on uer.ca about the urban explorer convention in buffalo, and how i had asked them not to include BCT in any activites, but they included it as a “featured place”. apparently i’m completely out of line in trying to represent the CTRC and the CTRC’s wishes to protect the building. my bad.

you only said that the BCT will not host any OPEX events. which it isn’t – it is a “featured location”… so is the richardson center! people are encouraged to go and take photos of the richardson center from the outside, but are warned of the massive security there. same thing with the BCT. if people who are in town for OPEX decide to go to BCT on their own, and ask for premission, that is their choice.

A lot of people are in town for the event, and some of them want to see BCT, even if its just seeing the outside. The BCT’s attitude on this has been noted by many explorers who have heard of the issues there recently, and there is a great lack of respect for yourself as a fellow explorer for even forbiding people from asking permission to view the main hall and make a donation and sign the guest book.

People have been advised to ask for permission to visit BCT, they always have been! in no way is anyone being encouraged to tresspass or cause any harm to that property.

You are not welcome at the dinner tomorrow, as I am sure no one really cares to hear what you have to say.

about UE in general, and your views:

If you are this fussy about UE, why not just remove yourself from any UE forum and do your own thing… UE is a growing hobby… you must learn to share. you alone will not stop the UE hobby from expanding, and your attempts to limit urban exploration in the city of buffalo to only people who you trust are futile. you do not run things, and your elitest attitude makes you not a real urban explorer, but rather a self absorbed person who wants to “control” something that they can’t control.

UER is not responsible for the growth of the hobby… we all are! even you!

once the hobby hit the internet, people started sharing info about it, and the hobby grew! you have a website about UE do you not?

if UER never existed, it would be some other forum which you would be blaming right now…

the point is, you can not stop people from exploring, and your futile attempts to limit the enjoyment of others in the hobby is causing alot of the “mainstream” urban explorers to dislike you.

isn’t the point of restoring the BCT, to make it available for people who enjoy buildings of that era to see again? if people who wish to view such a building want to come and donate on their own accord… how is that bad? isn’t that what you encourage?

if not, then why didn’t the restoration council decide to restore a crappy old building somewhere else that has no impressive features, and that no one would ever want to come and see?

just so you know the people who were rejected yesterday were willing to give generous donations, and they DID ask permission (and were initially allowed in) to get in prior to being asked (by someone else) to leave, which they did. I do not see how this in any way reflects poorly on anyone! and your response to this is clearly uncalled for and immature. infact the various mods are discussing banning you from this site for this irrational action on your part!

if you have any other issues please do let me know… i have informed everyone that the BCT is completely
off limits, even to those who wish to donate.

hahahahahahhhaha i’m crying. omg. my life is over.

murderer!

the guy in front of me at aldi was buying 12 gallons of bleach. what does someone do with 12 gallons of bleach except try to wash blood stains out of the floor? man i watch WAY too much forensic files haha. i should have told him not to bother, the detectives will find blood traces anyway hehehe

long long day. drove down to olean to pick up sarah who we met at the nin erie and cleveland shows, and her girlfriend katia, to do some splorin up in buffalo. the terminal of course đŸ™‚ i also had a meeting there at 3 so it worked out. and opex kids decided to stop by. also stopped by cargill for a bit, before my house and back to olean. the drive back was through the most ridiculous storms and rain. lightning everywhere, monsoon rains, craziness. the whole time i was trying to remember what you’re supposed to do if your car gets hit by lightning – stay inside and not open the door, because it acts as a hollow ball and keeps the current on the outside of the car, or if it was fine to get out because of the rubber tires…and settled on just calling 911 and finding out what to do from them. until i wondered maybe you shouldn’t use a cell phone while in a car that was struck by lightning hahah. luckily it didn’t matter. made it to olean, where it wasn’t raining. got gas and food and made my way back.

i have soooo much cleaning to do before dan gets here tomorrow night. (who apparently RSVPed for me to go to the opex banquet LOL thanks for telling me) i apologize in advance if my house smells and is all muggy, it’s way humid and i have no air circulation in here.

also, godhead’s last album is terrible. wtf happened to that band. while they may never have been excellent they certainly weren’t sell out radio friendly modern rock crap.

booo

looks like i’m gonna lose intstitutionalgreen.com because someone keeps outbidding me on the domain auction. unless leighanne logs in and repurchases it. which will cost like 80$ or something. fantastic.

a perfect circle’s “mer des noms” is brilliant.

i have this strange feeling someone is going to ask me to go to tori amos at sheas in october hahaha lucky for them it’s on a day off

i feel the need to clarify a previous post.

i’m not upset and depressed about not having someone to share my life with. because in thinking about it, i honestly am not looking for “that someone”, and i’m not at this point interested in having “that someone”. i am really uninterested for a number of reasons.

what is upsetting me is the fact that i’m *thinking* that i *should* want that. it upsets me that i have this lump in the back of my head saying “you should be at ____ point in your life, you should be married, you should have a kid” when i know that i don’t HAVE to be at that point now, or ever. i am my own person, and what i do with my life is not ruled by the so called conventions of society – marriage, family, career.

but more so than lately i keep thinking i *should* be at such and such a point, and i should be doing X, when i used to not think about any of that at all. and that’s the problem.

ue

another rainy morning turned into a good exploring day. ian and i hit up concrete central with intent to climb, but it is unclimbable for us novices with no upper body strength. or ladders. just one ladder to go up one story is needed. when they cut the stairs out of that elevator, they actually cut out the entire stair structure – unlike cargill. so after the typical walk through we headed to the marine-a elevator, which i hadn’t been back to since early 2004. it’s rather unimpressive, and quite small in comparison to concrete central and cargill, but it has the coolest echoes. for whatever reason the owners cut off the bottom of the silos. so you can see all the way up, just massive space, that sounds so cool with any tiny little noise. it’s really the only thing that makes it interesting. that and the praying mantis we found on a rusted barrel. and the weird half painted over mural that included an airplane that i SWEAR says “capital g” on it. also, the stacks still have stairs! woo. for some reason it felt more dangerous to be using those stairs than climbing cargill’s lack of stairs. the roof top level was very different from cargills, very small, not as many different roof levels. somewhat anti climatic after trying to get up there, but still cool to see. interesting view from up there, but i don’t see making a return trip in my future though. i do need to find a ladder of some sort to take to concrete…

got dinner at amy’s so i could finally get the falafel haha. drove around a bit, couldn’t find anything else. need some new places to visit for next time. suggestions welcome haha.

black light burns

tonight was black light burns (or is it blacklightburns) at the icon with adr and eric. i had gotten tickets because julien-k (ryan and amir from orgy) were supposed to play, but checking myspace right before i left, turns out they canceled because ryan has laryngitis. boo. went anyway of course. it was 12$ come on haha. i had been following blb on myspace because danny lohner (ex-nin) and josh freese (current nin) were involved in the project, tho aren’t in the touring lineup. that’s ok too haha.

adr and i got there at doors at 6, got in line with…12 year olds. we seriously were the oldest people in line. this little boy in front of us asked if we knew where he had to pay, the girls behind us asked if it was an all ages show. the ticket said 16 and under had to have a parent with them. the girl actually asked if we would be her mom. WTF! hahaha inside wasn’t a whole lot better.

anyway. first band, local, as summer dies. eh. whatever. they played 4 songs. 2nd band, i couldn’t quite catch their name…affair, or a fraid, or something like that. again, eh, whatever. followed by soulidium. i didn’t think they were too bad but they had equipment problems. it wasn’t screaming, so it was ok with me.

somehow after their set we ended up talking to these 2 canadian guys who were standing in front of us, who ended up being way cool. talked to them through the rest of the show between sets. we all agreed that new tool = the suck.

then was horse, the band. the canadian guys had explained how you really had to see the band to get it. “it” being how bad they are. and wow. they didn’t disappoint, but i don’t think they were as bad as say…The World Provider. hahahah. horse, the band was quite amusing. their set involved the stage having plants all over it, a sort of throne for the singer, and stuffed animals which head banged during certain songs courtesy of the singer. most amusing part of their set, the pit. the people in the pit were ridiculous. no way to describe it. just amusing as hell.

sad thing about the evening, hardly anyone was there. alot left after horse, the band. there were maybe 100 people for blb. they missed out. while i followed the going ons of blb on myspace i didn’t pay too much attention and hadn’t listened to any. so i had no idea what to expect, and definitely didn’t expect what they ended up sounding like. and wes borland…wow. if i didn’t know that it was him singing, i’d have had no clue. i just have the image of him in limp bizkit and he really wasn’t at all like that persona on stage with blb. i was impressed. people who did stay seemed to be into it. the band left the stage right into the audience to sign stuff and all of that. bought the cd and got it signed. i hadn’t brought my camera after hearing julien-k cancelled so we took some pics on adr’s phone haha. said goodbye to the canadian boys and headed out.

adr and i tried to get food at nestors cuz i thought they might have falafel but they aren’t open 24 hrs anymore. off to denny’s…except they were closed for maintenance. wtf! ended up at freaking mcdonalds for the first time in ages.

all in all a good time. especially for 12 dollars haha.

the axe mens body spray commercials amuse me, the Bom chika wa wa ones, because david and i saw them all in europe months before they were on tv here haha. of course they were in german, but we got the point haha.

tomorrow tackling the concrete central climb. we’ll see what that quarter mile of rooftop holds. but whatdya know, it’s supposed to rain! could it be any different? ha
