employee of the month!

so for being employee of the month i get a lunch with management on thursday at the steakhouse, 100$ cash, 150$ gift card for the restaurants or stores, parking in the ramp for a month, and apparently some jacket from the gift shop. then i’m in the pool for employee of the year, and for that you get 1000$.

this is all so surprising because well…i’m a damn good employee as far as attendance and knowing what the hell i’m doing, and not coming to work high/drunk. but as far as customer service, i don’t really strive for our “4 Star” service bull that we all had to go to 8 hours of training for. i’m not rude unless you’re a total ass to me, but i don’t really go out of my way either. the 8 hour training 2 years ago was the most wasted 8 hours of my life – because who doesn’t know you’re supposed to greet people when they appear in front of you (be it a gaming table or the counter at mcdonalds or a clothing store), or to smile at people, and to thank them for their business. seriously, do people not know that kind of stuff? apparently they don’t know because we all had to be taught this for 8 long boring hours. this is all stuff i learned from my PARENTS, it’s called being polite haha.

anyway…so it was unexpected, tho i don’t think undeserved 🙂 shawn was the pit boss who nominated me, so he gets to go to the lunch thing and give a speech about me. hahahaha that’ll be amusing. i get to take a guest and i guess i’m taking my mom since adr1 leaves wed, and adr2 doesn’t eat meat, and i have no sig other.

also it is in the paper that the south grand island bridge is on the verge of collapse… ok not really, but it is apparently rated between “poor” and “serious” condition hahah so glad i don’t have any reason to go to grand island anymore

wtf

i’m not quite sure how i do it but i seem to get injured while i sleep. i hurt EVERYWHERE…my legs hurt as if i had climbed the koln dom again, my chest feels like someone gave me CPR, my neck kills…and none of it makes sense. all i did yesterday was go to the post office, play dress up, and edit photos. such a work out 😛

lame

i hit my head on the upstairs girl’s mailbox. not hard, but lord it hurts like hell. caught the corner of it. so now i took too many pain killers and i’m all shaky. plus i have the desire to just get completely trashed, but now i don’t think drinking with the pills would be such a good idea.

i’ve been modeling different outfits in the mirror, and finally got my too-small-hot-london-skirt to sorta fit. i’m not sure i’d ever wear it out, i still think it’s too short – maybe with leggings. so i’m all dressed up sitting here by myself lol. i’m so lame.

bats rock

continuing the theme of this week, there was a bat flying around the casino today. unfortunately not by me. but apparently it caused some amusement in the old section. apparently it landed on a lady who freaked out. then landed on a guy who flung it away and it hit another woman in the chest. then it landed on a guy’s shoulder, and he just looked at it and continued to play blackjack hahaha.

bored, lazy. in other words, things are back to normal now that opex is over and dan is gone. i have loads of photos to go through but like i said, lazy. i really don’t feel like it.

Pittsburgh urbex

While the “Steelmark” logo only contains the word “Steel”, the Steelers were given special permission to add “-ers” in 1963 after a petition against AISI. thanks wikipedia

anyway. got very dirty and it was extremely hot, so we found a hotel, got clean, and went to see the simpsons movie. I give it an A-. needed more ralph, tho his 2 lines were pretty fantastic haha.

day 2 didn’t go as well. we left the hotel and headed to the Dogma Church – the one in the movie. unfortunately, it was boarded up pretty tight, and the 2 people who were loitering didn’t seem interested in making an entrance for us hahahahahahah. so plan b, a state hospital. only the place wasn’t abandoned, it was half active on a huge piece of property. we were pretty quickly apprehended by security, dan had to turn over his film even though we hadn’t taken a single picture. the double bummer on that one was that it was like an hour and a half drive from the city through lots of construction. ah well. at that point we weren’t too far from an old amusement park, Idlewild. I had found it while looking for a Mystery Spot on the east coast, and they had one. so we headed over there. this is one of those parks that have been around for over 100 years and have tried to keep up with the times, but not quite making it. it’s like a Fantasy Island, but actually smaller with less rides. it did have quite a fabulous Storybook Land – very VERY similar to the Enchanted Forest in MD, just not abandoned and turned into a strip mall. rode the 2 “coasters” and walked around the park, got dinner. all the little kids liked dan’s mohawk. after the park we decided to head back, and ultimately all the way back home.

here, hot, work tomorrow.

also, the nin setlist for the moscow show included “the great destroyer”. oh dear god. i will not be able to hear that song live without cringing and/or laughing. haha

road trippin

it is going to be way too hot in pittsburgh. boooo.

i felt like jim lorentz tonight. 🙂

i got bit by something and it has left a huge red lump. i’m sorta frightened. i don’t want to wake up with my arm all gangrene tomorrow.

that is all.
