i was so so bored so i decided to use the new fabric i bought and make a bag. was going fine, tho threads kept getting caught on the bottom and tangled etc…don’t know why…but then the needle broke, and now it’s jammed and i can’t move any of the parts. same as last time i broke it, and there were no parts of the needle in the bobbin area. grrrrrrrrr. and i was almost done!!!

i should post something more than photos of being silly….so, photos from the week he was here, that he is not in hahahahah using annoying deviantart embed codes πŸ™‚ i just noticed they existed hah

ideal setlist

my hand looks like i punched someone. boyX has been the only one to notice, and so he’s started telling people i punched someone hahah. if only that was true, instead of my blood vessel randomly burst for no reason.

so since i heard a song at work a few days ago that reminded me of “Running to Stand Still” i’ve been in a big u2 mood. that has included going through bootlegs to find a good live version of above song, and actually listening to the boston 05 bootleg for the first time. i was reminded of how shit ass the order of that setlist was. there are still moments that make me smile, and moments i wish bono would shut up, and songs i wish weren’t in the setlist. and i was reminded about songs i didn’t like and still don’t (ie miracle drug). i also listened to pop giants, the last popmart show, which is great great great.

so that led to me thinking of my ideal u2 setlist…
1. mofo
2. until the end of the world
3. beautiful day
4. city of blinding light
5. the unforgettable fire
6. out of control
7. love and peace or else
8. hold me thrill me kiss me kill me
9. gone
10. with or without you w/shine like stars
11. acrobat
12. please
13. love is blindness
14. mysterious ways
15. sunday bloody sunday
encore
16. bullet the blue sky
17. running to stand still
18. dirty day
19. discotheque
20. where the streets have no name
21. walk on

i limited it to a fair 21 song set heheh. they’re getting old you know πŸ™‚ and for the fun of it, songs i never ever want to see ever/ever again
1. yahweh
2. the playboy mansion
3. miracle drug
4. grace
5. the wanderer
6. peace on earth
7. miss sarajevo (sorry haha)
8. miami

so nin.com posted official tour videos on youtube…one of me, i’m not that i posted, and now my all time favourite song – the great destroyer. hahhahahahah still no way i won’t laugh. anyway…seriously, where are josh and jeordie in these videos…it seems the led screen totally cuts off the stage, and i’m assuming josh is behind the screen…ali is up front playing, but no jeordie… i’m confused…

somehow i managed to burst the bloodvessel of my middle knuckle at work today. it really hurts. and it itched for some reason. it’s all nice and purple. and my mouth feels numb. i’m dying.

running to stand still

And so she woke up
Woke up from where she was lying still
Said I got to do something
About where we’re going
Step on a steam train
Step out of the driving rain
Maybe run from the darkness in the night

Singing ha la la la de day
Ha la la la de day ha la la de day

Sweet the sin
Bitter the taste in my mouth
I see seven towers
But I only see one way out
You got to cry with out weeping
Talk without speaking
Scream without raising your voice
You know I took the poison from the poison stream
Then I floated out of here

Singing ha la la la de day
Ha la la la de day ha la la de day

She runs through the streets
With her eyes painted red
Under a black belly of cloud in the rain
In through a doorway she brings me
White gold and pearls stolen from the sea
She is raging, she is raging
And the storm blows up in her eyes
She will suffer the needle chill
She is running to stand still

10th Anniversary

tonight i used my last sick day to call in for the 10th anniversary at the terminal. kate did an awesome job putting it together and it looked great. i wished for more politicians to show up but ah well that’s ok πŸ˜› jerks. haha. i intended to leave around 9:30, didn’t end up leaving til midnight haha. spent the time talking to bill and tracy, and whoever else stopped by, had some drinks, etc etc etc. good time. it was funny cuz most people dressed up, and it was all “double take” on everyone, because we’re all usually pretty scummy when in the building. tracy wore a dress, and i was like OMG, and i wore a dress, and she was all OMG! hahah. amusing. i have a feeling a certain person is going to complain about the event, given the fact that he made a comment when he got off “stage” after his little speech. and it’s just, you know what, fuck off. it was a nice event, and it was nice to treat ourselves for once.

i have SO much cake left over tho, if anyone local wants it, let me know. it’s really really good πŸ™‚

Velvet Revolver

tonight was the alice in chains/velvet revolver show with adr2 at darien lake. lawn tickets, we be cheap. haven’t been that far away during a show in a long long time.

we got there while Kill Hannah was on. they sucked. crap emo tho the band seemed to actually be able to play their instruments. they might actually be good with a different vocalist. they murdered (or i should say the vocalist murdered) a cover of Billy Idol’s “rebel yell”. if billy idol was dead he’d be rolling over in his grave haha. thankfully they weren’t on for much longer after we arrived.

darien now has a little corral in the center of the lawn that is non smoking and non drinking. it was awesome LOL cuz no one was in it. the only people in it were along the lawn rail, and we hung against the back rail of the corral and no one bothered us and we could see. rock. it was also amusing to watch security stop people with beer from coming in the corral the entire time. it also contained a few amusing dancers.

anyway. as soon as the first alice in chains riff started i thought “god bless grunge!” so great. i guess it’s that “what you grew up with” sort of nostalgia thing, but that era fucking rocked lol. it was refreshing (which is odd to say) to hear compared to the emo shit on the radio. i’ll get the set list from eric eventually, but adr2 said it was the standard “greatest hits” set, and it was quite good.

then velvet revolver. they came on stage to “straight outta compton” ROFL. and fucking slash! hah i was excited to see him play, even from so far away. he’s the guitarist in my fantasy band haha. and he didn’t disappoint. and scott weiland, still heroin skinny, still very hot. the band sounded fantastic (how could most of guns n roses not sound fantastic) but scotty’s voice seems to have seen better days. i couldn’t really tell until they did a few Stone Temple Pilots songs (yes they did STP songs! surprise) but it seemed stressed – too much smoking. They did Vaseline, Interstate Love Song and Sex Type Thing. They also played some Guns n Roses – Patience, Mr Brownstone…was there another? I forget. One of the encores gave us Pink Floyd “Wish You Were Here”. some song during the end, one that i knew, they showed images of serial killers paying special attention to ted bundy…and we just didn’t get it…anyway. A good rock and roll show. worth the price of admission.

we realized at one point however, that half the audience wouldn’t know the STP and GNR songs because THEY WEREN’T EVEN BORN YET! gah we’re old.

and we only had about 5 people come up and bother us – one guy looking for drugs, one guy who liked my hair cut, a guy who liked my boots, and lots of people who liked adr2s tattoos haha. and it was the quickest exit from a darien lake show EVER. we were out immediately, no traffic backup at all. helped that we were parked on the pavement and not the dirt.

tomorrow is the 10th Anniversary of the CTRC party at the terminal. i must not forget to call in.

oh and today was the employee of the month lunch. no big deal. good food, crap speeches, blahblahblah.

adr2 convinced me to go to the heaven and hell tour, sabbath, alice cooper et al to people watch all the metal heads hehe

dbags

another reason on the list why i’ll never pay for metallica anything ever again….

http://www.dailygaming.net/index.php?name=News&file=article&sid=230

“Attorneys for the gaming companies named in the lawsuit were bemused by the lawsuit. “Our company paid a licensing fee to feature the track ‘One’ by Metallica in Guitar Hero III,” counsel for Activision/Red Octane told reporters. “We don’t understand why Metallica would turn around and sue us, unless they’ve gone from insane completely batshit insane since 2001, but we’re confident that the law and our contracts will be enough to have this thrown out.”

and

“Some speculate that the various arms of the band’s crumbling media empire are so out of touch that they don’t know what they have and haven’t licensed, while others believe this may be one last desperate grab for attention from a band that has lost all cultural significance outside of reruns of “I Love the 90s” on VH1.

and

“The band infamously blamed file-sharing programs, which were quickly rising in popularity at the exact same time that Metallica was quickly disappearing from the mainstream consciousness, for the decline in their records, believing that it was Napster, not their own douchebaggery, that stopped fans from buying their albums.

haha aaron

oh aaron north…

what gear do you play on: Ruiner
The song always kicks in, and I go, “DAMMIT… what are the words I hafta scream really fast again? ‘The Ruiner knows Phil Spector, he likes wearing sweaters’ Right?”” hahahaha

what gear do you play on: The Perfect Drug
AN: That’s easy, only cos I remember finger-fucking the arrangement on that sucker forever. I know I play a Jazzmaster in drop D tuning, and make lotsa weird noises. It sounds cool, and is fun to play actually. Maybe we’ll even perform it live someday. Eh. Prolly not.

Trent made it clear from the get-go that he wasn’t really interested in me trying to sound like any of the old dudes anyway. He was like, “Instead of copying something Robin just copied from Richard, do what you want”… And to the dismay of kids everywhere with shaved eyebrows and those weird shoes with the big soles on them, I did.

man i still find it hard to believe aaron is 3 years younger than me…

$$$

*edit* the employee of the year doesn’t get $1000, they get $5000 hahahahaha. i made a deal with another dealer that if either of us win employee of the year, we’ll split the prize hehe.
