so i went back to the mall with kate to buy the dress i tried on at hot topic yesterday. i like it. i think i might wear it to cinci on saturday, cuz it’s supposed to be in the 40s. that’s nuts, deciding to wear a dress cuz it’s gonna be a warm 40 degree day! LOL i gotta decide if i can wear my high heel mary janes at a show though…i think i need tights, i’ll stay warmer that way i think.
got a dvd of the wilkes-barre show, but i didn’t take the time to burn it nicely because it seemed hardly watchable. seems to have been recorded from the floor. some good shots, but most of what i saw when i skipped around was really shaky and bad. taking a look at the philly show dvd now…i think it’s the same taper as the philly club shows that were amazing. here’s hoping. also got the toledo show, it was up right away. haven’t listened yet but it’s being hyped as one of the best sounding recordings from the whole tour.
watched hedwig and the angry inch again tonight. so great. it had been awhile. need to watch fight club again soon. then i’ll need an FC icon like i now need a hedwig icon haha. i have no more open icon slots!

trent dream. i was back in highschool and adr2 went to the same school with me, but we were the same age as we are now. i guess it was the beginning of the year, or at least a change in what classes you took. i was in an english class and trent was the teacher. everyone knew who he was and that he was from nine inch nails, but he had returned to the thing he loved most of all, teaching. so of course i’m sorta freaking out and i can’t say like one word in the class or to him. days go on like this with me being pretty much retardedly frozen. one day he started talking about his “cause”, which was grain elevators. he was really interested in saving the grain elevators in buffalo and figuring out what could be done with them and stuff. now here was a perfect time for me to finally say something, but i still couldn’t. i had such a crush on him i just couldn’t speak. i even tried to dillydally after class picking up my books hoping he’d say something to me so i could bring up the grain elevators and my photography. but someone else was talking to him. lunch followed my english class so i got my lunch and went to the cafeteria. adr2 was there so we ate lunch and we were like..the only freaks in the whole school. so we sat by ourselves every day. well this day trent decided to sit with us, cuz he would fit in with us. and he showed up just as i was telling adr2 how much of crush i had on him and how the class drives me crazy haha. i saw him and i was like SHUT UP real loud haha. so he sat down and i’m all nervous but i finally was able to tell him that i really love the grain elevators and i’ve taken alot of pictures of them, and if he needed any help with his work to let me know. and he said he already knew about my photography. and i just about died.
i think there was more but i don’t remember. oh yeah. there was another class day, when he started talking about this project he was going to run to try to get everyone to vote some certain person into political office. when the school found out he was doing all this political stuff they threatened to fire him, basing their decision on the fact he was a rock star and that he was poisioning our minds.

i have a big hard lump in the back of my head and it hurts. and it wasn’t there before, and i don’t have one on the other side of my head. my brains are falling out haha. maybe that girl did kick me in the head….

Nine Inch Nails – Toledo
so much for the ETA of 7 hours, it only took us 5 hours to get to toledo. thankfully it was snow free weather. a nice day overall, near 40 degrees so we didn’t totally need to bundle up when we got to the venue. found amira and her husband, and turns out the girls are back from france for this leg. hah they are nuts. we were outside for about an hour and half before spiral members got let in to wait in the hall of the arena.
and let me just say, toledo is bitchin! wtf..there is NOTHING there. why does toledo even exist?
now this arena…is probably a tiny bit bigger than sabreland LOL. i couldn’t believe they have the red wings farm team play there. it was nuts. so we got moved around the hallway of the arena for awhile and nin started sound check. they hadn’t been doing sound check at alot of the shows, i think only one before this one. they played “dead souls” first, then halfway through “you know what you are” they let us onto the floor to see “with teeth”. yay with teeth is back!! trent + tambourine = love. so then we were herded back out into the hallway for another bunch of time. it was fun though hanging with the people we met last leg.
finally let onto the floor for real, at the rail in front of aaron surprise! it seemed like a really long wait, since now there’s only one opener. it was Moving Units. i’d group them into that whole 80s killers throwback crap, even tho i don’t think the killers sound 80s at all. this band really did, and the lead singer is a spazz and looked like he came out of the 80s. and i guess ryan shuck was a trend setter with his gross mullet 2 years ago, cuz everyone is doing it now. they were ok.
the nin show i think is one of the best from the arena shows i’ve seen. it might have just been the setlist changes. but the band with josh drumming sounded really really good. they threw in “with teeth” “getting smaller” um…they took out “suck” and “hurt” (though it was probably because the night before in grand rapids someone hit trent in the head with a lighter during the song and he just left and ended the show), oh yeah, they did “everyday is exactly the same” which was the first time we got it since the first toronto club show. that was awesome. it sounds better now too. “closer” with the platform – totally hot. lots of trent hotness 🙂

the venue also had the best security i have ever seen. this one guy could grab any crowd surfer, even a guy bigger than him, and just throw them around to the ground no sweat. they really made me want to crowdsurf, because i want to do it once in my life, but i’m scared of security dropping me haha. a girl who got pulled out during “head like a hole” apparently kicked me in the head. cuz after the show outside she grabbed me and apologized haha. that was nice.
since toledo sucks we decided to just drive home after the show and not stay over. got home at 4am and could not sleep to save my life, tho i was wicked tired. then mom came over at like 8 to see the cat tho i emailed her and told her i was home and not to come wake me up haha.
i need new boots. i’m sure hot topic will only have platforms that i don’t want, but i’m gonna go see anyway.

there is this little older asian lady at work who likes me for some reason. she calls me “boo-tee-ful dealer” haha. she was playing with me today and said she lives alone and gets lonely so she comes to the casino and then she gets to play with the beautiful dealer hahaha. and she gave me 70$ and specified it was “for kitty kat” hahaha.
i really don’t know how to explain my relationship with u2 right now. cuz i so totally despise politician bono. and i really don’t care for the last album. and the shows were eh. but i still love 90s u2, and listening to them today, even “all that you can’t leave behind” still makes me happy – er well the first 5 tracks, and new york. new york actually gives me chills because it was so great live. and especially the 2nd version post 9-11. i really do enjoy the first half of that record. coldplay steve copied the vertigo dvd for me but i don’t really want to watch it. cuz i’m just so eh on them right now. gah. but i have thought of a bunch more u2 icons to make haha

i haven’t gotten to watch much of the olympics this time around, although i have tried to catch the short track from time to time. you know, since apollo is so hot and all 🙂 i’m so shallow haha. anyway….i gotta say skeleton is the most insane event at the games. head first at 70 mph?!?!? insanity. saw some of it last night and me and this kid at work just stopped talking and stared at the tv watching, then both agreed that it was completely nuts. a coworker of mine used to be a luger. he almost made the olympics in 84, but they took the top 2 instead of every other year when they took the top 3. he trained at lake placid for years. pretty cool eh? ski jump is probably totally cool, just like flying. oh and watching the snowboarding races makes me want to learn to snowboard. of course, i’d kill myself that’s for sure. i just didn’t realize they had snowboarding races, i just thought it was the halfpipe stuff, and solo timed races. very cool.
i wish i had more vacation time because i’d really like to go to europe this year.
i have to say that i really do love my hair short.
i keep having reoccuring dreams about the same urbex location that doesn’t actually exist hahah. it’s really beautiful though. it may be a manifestation of the very pretty building on hamburg turnpike. just in a different location. a same fictional location in all the dreams, but haha…not the hamburg turnpike.
