ok i wrote this long post, then blogger didnt publish it. copied it to try in a few min, then the comp crashed, lost the post. grrr. so here’s a shorter version.

work was good. it was AC. i took names all day for the wait list, so i really just stood there and did nothing all day. adr, eric, danielle and amanda came in around 11. i ended up getting out early, so waited for them, and left when they finished. i made this guys day today, cuz he was asking about our motto above the bar, and i ended up telling him about how one of our founders was hindu, which the guy loved (cuz he was hindu). girl gymnasts are in town. a bunch of them decided to befriend me. the one girl talked so fast, had NO IDEA what she was saying AT all. it was crazy.

happy 4th of july. i’m having another non-party for it. it’s even more non than the last non-party. weird tho, cuz my dad was encouraging me to invite alot of people, and my mom paid for all of it. invited the usual, fab 4, joe, amanda…haven’t heard back from joe yet. he said he might have plans yesterday when we were at the show, so i’m figuring he won’t come. i said to just show up in my email to him, so whatever. i’ve got 3lbs of hot dogs, i’ll still be happy if no one shows up hahah.

 

there hasn’t been a single day this week where i haven’t woken up with a killer headache. not sure why that keeps happening, but it sucks.

it’s still too friggen hot. i saw a commercial for a free in home estimate on central air by Sears yesterday and i almost called. hah wouldn’t my parents LOVE that. they come home and we have AC hahaha.

 

i love how completely wrong the weather has been lately. forcast says hi of 81, but currently it’s 87. and that’s happened almost every day. thunderstorms predicted for the rest of the day…it’s definitely not very sunny right now. maybe we’ll be frying our food instead of bbqing it.

when i was in the shower i had the greatest urge to get my hair done in corn rows. not like it would look good, but i wouldn’t have to do it for a while. i don’t know anyone who knows how to do them tho, so i guess that won’t happen – not going to pay to have it done. maybe i’ll destroy my hair this weekend since my parents are gone. bleach it or something.

i also realized in the shower my year blog anniversary came and went without notice. completely forgot about it. it was in june sometime. haha.

 

tired. non party was good. cooked on the grill, no rain. played trivial pursuit. adr kicked all our asses haha. drank alot, bottles everywhere, and we were no where near drunk. kinda sad isn’t it. i had 5, amanda had 3, eric had 4, adr and danielle prolly had around the same. yeah. not drunk. not even buzzed. very very sad. adr was gonna stay over night, since she drove, but since we weren’t drunk she didn’t have to. she was going to anyway since i hate being home alone, but i told her it didn’t matter. since she’s allergic to ziggy and she’d have to sleep on the couch she decided not to.

< nostalgia >when i was a kid i used to love 4th of july. no particular reason really, fireworks never really impressed me THAT much. i remember leaving the house at night and driving down the street, and the whole street would be smoke in the headlights from everyone setting fireworks off in their driveways. it would look like a warzone, smoke and flashing lights. it was so cool. usually every year one of the neighbors would get fireworks and do a small firework show for everyone. we’d be kept up by the people who were still setting off fireworks until 2am. that doesn’t happen anymore. were fireworks still legal when i was a kid? i didn’t think so, because i remember my aunt smuggling bags of fireworks in from canada when she’d come for me and my mom’s birthdays. but there’s a serious lack of people screwing with fireworks now a days. someone on the street over had some bottle rockets, but that was about it. it’s just odd, since there was such a proliferation of them when i was young. interesting. < /nostalgia >

on a good note it’s really cooled down, and it’s only 78 in my room now. my aunt trudy in greece called today. she’s hiking mountains in austria now and everything, even tho her foot is still messed up, but much better. i really want to go to europe. i wish i had the money to go there for an extended period of time and just be a bum haha.

so shooting at LAX. how the HELL did a man with a gun and a hunting knife get into the fucking airport?!?! they wouldn’t let me take a fucking BELT onto the plane with me. so tell me how a gun gets through. ESPECIALLY on the fucking 4th of july when we’ve had heightened security all day because of terrorist threats. how does one do that?

sharon osbourne has treatable cancer and has to have surgery, so the first 2 ozzfest dates are postponed. so i’m figuring kelly is not going to be in buffalo on saturday…

 

christ it’s hot. i was lucky to be in AC most of yesterday, at least when it was the hottest. i’m dying. even the grocery stores weren’t very cold. and my basement, not cold. i think i’m gonna go down there anyway. i’m dreading taking a shower, because it always makes me sweat more. ug.

dreamed that trent took me to prom on valentines day last night lol.

adrienne is coming home tonight. too bad i’ll be at work til midnight. i guess she called last night while we were out. i guess my parents are indeed going away tomorrow. so i guess we’re gonna use my grill tomorrow night. lot’s of guessing haha.

 

ok i really want to change my domain name. even tho i just friggen reordered pc.com. would everyone be pissed off if i did? probably haha. thats alot of links to change, and lot of other peoples urls to change since i host like 6 sites from other ppl. maybe i’ll buy the 2nd domain anyway…

yep i did. i figure since i transfered pc.com from 15$ a year to 8.95$ a year, i can afford 2 now LOL. i’m so bad. once it’s propigated and works, i’ll post the url. it will be attached to the same host as pc.com…or at least thats what i tried to do LOL we’ll see if it works. so then pc.com will work until august 2003, and the new one will get to the same pages as well. hopefully.

tool tix for hamilton go on sale friday morning. eric’s gotta decide if he’s gonna go or not. WHICH HE SHOULD CUZ IT’S FRIGGEN TOOL! it’s the same day as edgefest tho, with the tea party for 10$…but come on now, he’s seen tea party 13+ times now, and it’s TOOL FOR CHRIST SAKE! lol the rest of the edgefest lineup sucks too. tool tool tool! muhammed wants me to get him 2 tickets too, but i told him i NEED him to pay me like right away. i know he has no money, but neither do i LOL. i know eric is good for the money so that’d be no prob. muhammed said he’s still gonna go, but just might not get tix til later, so we wouldn’t be sitting together (cuz i’m getting seats – fuck general admission floor) but we’d still go up there together. i told him no drugs across the border, cuz i’m not getting arrested cuz of his dumbass haha. but anyway. yeah. i’m going if i have to go by myself. it’ll end up being around 35$ american after service charges and exchange. i think. ticketmaster.ca says 30$-50$ for tix, maybe seats are 30..that’d be hella nice!

morning. the first day of work was pretty good. i got to eat for free, they want you to try things off the menu so you can order whatever you want for free during your training days. then the preshift meeting thing. and yeah, it’s so weird to work in a REAL restaurant. mcds would always plan to do like weekly meetings to explain stuff, but if it happened once that was pretty good. preshift meetings twice a day? that actually happen?! weird haha. anyway it was amazingly busy. since i had NO CLUE what i was doing, i just stood behind the host stand for the first half and watched my trainer run everything. she was like, the head host for the night, and since it was so busy she didn’t have time to actually train me on anything. i paged ppl, and answered the phone mostly til 9. it was so busy because of soccer teams that were coming in like parties of 25 and 45 etc. 2 hour wait time and stuff. but after 9 it slowed down and i got stuff explained to me. i started seating people after 10. however thanks to them i had YMCA in my head all night. whenever it comes on all service stops so all the floor people can go dance on the stage for the customers haha. it was fun. my legs hurt cuz i haven’t stood on my feet for 8 hours since january.

so i work tuesday 10:15 – 6, so if eric waits til like 6:30 ish for me, i can still go see david usher. i work wednesday too, but i forgot what time, i think 5:15 to close again. and saturday and sunday i think i work 12-business dies (so 9 or 10pm i guess)…one sucky thing is that even tho it’s law to get a lunch break, you don’t really get one. you have the right to ask for one, since it’s law and stuff, but they don’t give you one. the girl said if you’re working the swing shift you do usually get one, because you might work for like 10-11 hours, but the normal 8 hour shift you don’t. they told me i can sneak food in the closet, so i’ll have to start bringing stuff in a lunch bag to tide me over. haha.

anyway…today…i think i might wash my car. then i dunno. i have a massive headache currently cuz i slept weird, and i’m friggen starving.

 

(random and completely pointless: the fragile at mtv awards mp3 that i got, and was cut off, has the intro from the show on it “ladies and gentleman, nine inch nails”…and eric was like, dude is that bono?! it hadn’t even occured to me that it would be bono introducing them, but when i listened to it again, it definitely sounds like bono. i wonder if bono and trent have ever met…hahah *dream come true*)

i seemed to have missed the trent hotness factor the first time i watched bowie’s “i’m afraid of americans” vid… holy mother…and trent carying a cross. can’t go wrong. something about sinister guys…what’s wrong with me? lol

 

between flipping between some hbo/movie channel and vh1, i managed to see most of The Crow: City of Angels. my god is that a bad movie. cuz it isnt the SAME movie as the first one, with different actors. it’s like they copy and pasted the script, changed words here and there, and changed the plot one tiny bit. but the movie is the same. chinese bad woman, evil drug users, innocent people dying, lots of guns shooting at mr the crow, woman knowing the man’s power is in the crow, obsession with eyes…drilling/pulling them out, getting plucked out by the bird. same “mark of the crow”, same kids running around in halloween costumes, same memory flashbacks, it’s the same. and it’s really really bad. ug. that annoys me, cuz the original was so great.

and once again, burned a cd and the one file that i never listened to, didn’t work. was just a 30 second continuous loop for 5 minutes. annoying. i gave the messed up nin one to eric, cuz he said he didn’t mind that the fragile was chopped. haha. anyway. this last one i burned is such a random assortment of crap it’s unbelievable hahaha. from george michael unplugged, to korn remixes, to billy idol. i rock!

 

talked to the grandparents again. and apparently they aren’t disappointed in my choice of current job. my gpa went on about how he’s glad i had fun at my first night there, etc etc etc, how i have a good attitude about it blah blah blah. i don’t get it.

and i fixed my mov problem. for some reason my movs were suddenly starting up a 32 bit quicktime program, which wouldn’t play them. they USED to open in the newer version of quicktime i had, dunno why it changed. so i uninstalled the 32 bit, which screwed it all up and the newer one wouldnt open either. so uninstalled all of the versions, reinstalled the latest hahah. and now it works. yay!

burned my last cd for today. u2 @ irving plaza. the person who bootleged the show broke up the songs so retardedly…like in the beginning of the next song, instead of during audience noise. and the 2 second gaps at the end of the mp3s were annoying, so i edited them all and i must say i did a pretty damn good job too. can’t even tell 🙂 and this show is fantastic.

kelly osbourne is tentatively going to be at big shotz on chippewa on the 13th. if so, i’m so totally there. if kelly is going to be there, sharon will have to be there hahah.

so my birthday. we did exactly what i thought we were going to do. dinner, cake, danielle’s, taboo, pool. it was a good time.

i work at 4:30. we’ll see how that goes. i get free food, so that’s good haha. and currently i’m trying to get different software for my cd burner. the one it came with was crap. i want adaptec/roxio, but not paying 99$ for it :P. i burned 1 cd, my osbournes cd, and it seemed to work so that’s good haha.

 

eric came over to…surprise…fix my computer. it’s working again. and i didn’t break it either. it just sorta stopped working. but he fixed it. yay. and my new software works, the burned cd worked. except that the 1 file i didn’t make sure was whole, wasn’t… grrrrrr so now i have to download it again, and burn the cd again. lol. and of course, nothing is letting me download. arg.

more exciting times. last night, went to adrienne’s with eric since she is home from school for the weekend. eric ended up fooling with her computer, surprise. we watched who wants to be a millionare haha. then headed to….denny’s. another surprise. adrienne didn’t want to go home, so we went down to the falls. i’m down there way too much now lol. that’s the 5th time in a week that i’ve been down there, and i’m not even working yet lol.

so tonight, as i’ve said, dinner with the gang. turns out amanda wanted to go, but we only made reservations for 6 :(. she should have told me. adrienne is making me a cake, cuz my mom was working today and didn’t have time. so she’ll have to come by for cake later. after that though, dunno what’s going on. kurt’s taking carolyn back to canada, and that leaves us here with not much to do. if adrienne ends up buying taboo like she said, it’ll be an exciting night of board games hahaha. yes, board games on my 22nd birthday. and somehow i’m totally fine with that. what does that tell you? lol i’m figuring we end up at danielle’s, taboo or no…

have i ever mentioned how many people i know with the same bday? megan from elementary/high school, this girl who looked like a rat (no lie), mr afshani, beth from geneseo…there was someone else i believe…this is the first year i’ve not been at mcds for my birthday, and haven’t gotten a cake and stuff from them. kinda sad lol.

 

i hate my family. nothing i do is ever fucking good enough for them. it’s a good thing i don’t give a flying fuck what they think of me, or i’d be REALLY upset. they wonder why i dont ever tell them anything. cuz whenever i do, i just get bitched at. fuck it.

well last night was another fun filled night at danielle’s playing pool. we went to barnes and nobels first, then thrift store, media play, target, best buy, before danielle’s. we’re figuring we’re all gonna get real good at pool this summer, since it’s free, and her house is air conditioned lol. i managed to hit 5 balls in, in a row. and i suck. lol.

today i went and gave blood. they didn’t screw it up this time. it only took me 10 min to fill the bag (but i was there for about an hour and a half), they didn’t bruise my tendons this time etc. i’m going to be on tv too. when i got there channel 4 news was doing a live segment, but had just finished. when i was in the chair, they came back because they wanted more shots of ppl giving blood. ug. i hate being on tv. but i bought the novel of the godfather for a quarter lol.

and while i was there, there was a weather report on the radio about tornados in olean. LOL. i’m like, that bitch (carolyn) is gonna be in a tornado! but i shouldn’t say that, because if something really awful happened, like the tornado hit kurt’s house, i’d feel real bad. but I WANNA BE IN A TORNADO grrrrrrr. i got my earthquake a few months ago, now i need the tornado! *pouts*

adrienne will be home some time tonight. she hasn’t been online in 2 days tho, so i haven’t talked to her to find out when. the idea was tossed around to go to thursday in the square but, with the heat, there are thunderstorms predicted for the area all day. we’ll see. i need gas for my car, and one of the stations has 5 cents off today, so i guess i’ll go do that haha. exciting lives eh? oh and i was going to make mp3s to make my nin bsides cd, since my dad can rip mp3s on his comp now. *praying for the cd burner tomorrow*

 

it got real dark here all of a sudden. apparently we’re under a severe thunderstorm warning. i swear to god if it hails on my car again, someone’s gonna pay lol.

dude, after working at hard rock cafe for a period of months, you can choose to transfer anywhere in the world! lol i’m so gonna do that!! ok maybe not, but i’d love to do that hehe

i got called for another job from my online resume posting. chrobinson.com, sales again. she asked if i would be interested, and i told her i applied for a few other sales jobs and both them and me thought sales wasn’t for me. but she kept going, saying that they’re not normal sales, explained what it was etc. i told her i’d look at the website, but i probably won’t get back to her. we’ll see. my mom is all on my case to find a job. she’s like, how many resumes did you send out yesterday? today she’s like, i hope you do something today like FIND A JOB. um yeah, maybe it’s just me but i found a job. and yes i’m going to keep looking for a 2nd job, but i’d kinda like to start the first one. so whatever. screw her.

wow. that’s super. the article went on to talk about why it is unconstitutional and stuff. it reminds me of how i got yelled at in high school for not saying the pledge. i stopped saying it in 8th grade. i haven’t said it since then. i don’t even know the words anymore. but in 9th grade i got yelled at. my art teacher FLIPPED out, about how her brother was in the military and went to war for the country blah blah blah. i’m like yeah, i’m not saying it.

the internet was broken for hrs this morning. my life was unplugged. haha.

last night i ended up going to danielle’s with eric to fix her computer. played pool, goofed off, went to dennys. no big whoop. all my plans hinge on whether or not i get scheduled to work now. i think i might ask not to have to work friday if possible. saturday is the free friendship fest show with finger 11, and free=good. haha. tuesday is the free friendship fest show with david usher…and july 12th…the best show ever….vanilla ice!!!! hehe, he’s playing rochester, and i so hope i don’t have to work, or just work a dayshift so that i can go. hahah. i’m meeting that bitch!! muhammed is having a party the 13th. he said he’d go to hamilton to see tool with me too. i currently long for my monday-friday 6-2 set schedule at mcds….*sigh* i should write a list of days i need off so i can take it with me tonight. cuz i’ll definitely need bowie day off….whenever that is, since i always forget. i think hard rock should be cool with me saying i need days off for concerts, since u know… it’s a music restaurant lol.

there was other shit i was gonna say but i forget now. oh well.

 

i was informed today that my parents are going to wisconsin for 4th of july…a bit spur of the moment, and they don’t know how they’re getting there. i guess that means i don’t need off that weekend. however it would be nice, so maybe i won’t tell them 🙂 we were just talking last night about doing something for the 4th even if it was just cooking on the grill on my deck or something. i guess we’ll see.

i should leave for work soon. dunno how much traffic there is going to be getting down there, and how long it’s gonna take to find parking. i dont want to have to pay 8 fucking dollars for the ramp. arg. hate the falls.

 

end of the day…now for a recap (there is a hideously scary orange moon out again tonight.)

so orientation was the typical filling out paperwork, watching video, going over policies and stuff. we got our uniform things – denim shirts, 3 pins, and the nametag that looks like a backstage pass so we feel all cool and important haha. i have to read through my books and stuff, cuz they give you a test or something haha. i get 50% off merchandise, and 50% off food at all corporate stores (i just have to call ahead) for me and up to 5 other people. so that rocks. sucks tho, because i actually have a uniform shirt, not any hard rock shirt. only retail gets to wear the merchandise. and i wanted to get some of the cool shirts (they get 3 free to start!!!! that’s like a 90$ value!!!). they have some really nice ones now, not just the normal hrc logo ones that everyone and their brother have had the past 15 years. i was going to get one in new orleans and vegas but i didn’t.

bad thing – celebrity policy. you’re not allowed to treat them any differently than normal customers. you can’t ask for pictures or autographs. i guess i’ll just have to get fired if trent came in. nsync was in last summer apparently.

so on the way home, i got stuck on river road cuz of a long slow running train. and of course i had to pee like a race horse. ended up driving past eric on the way home. 5 min after i got home, he showed up with danielle at my house haha. we headed to the mall, andersons for ice cream, and danielle’s to screw with the computers some more and play pool.

i work on saturday, 4:30 to close (1:30am). won’t get home til around 2. i said i preferred day shifts, so we’ll see how things end up when i get normal schedules. i asked off for bowie, and vanilla ice, and august 26th because i think that was the tool show. haha i was just like whatever, i can change it later. i have off friday, so my birthday dinner is on.

for your information, it’s so weird to parallel park on the opposite side of the street. which is what i did tonight. i was all disoriented at first haha. but it’s all good. i’m a master parallel parker.

got the job. orientation tomorrow at 5. there isn’t going to be any parking. haha.

 

hanging out with chris yesterday for a few hours reminded me how much adolescence sucks. i don’t understand people who say they’d love to go back to high school. high school sucks. being a teenager sucks. who wants to relive all that stupid shit again? definitely not me, thanks. and i didn’t even have a bad time with it all. it still sucked though.

i think it’s funny, that all year in school i’d get up for class, turn my comp on, go take a shower etc. i’d come back in my room and everyone and their brother would IM me. and i’d be like helllooo i need to get ready for classssss can’t talk to youuuuu. and now that i’m home, and i have no job, i get up and sit at my computer for hrs before i do anything, and no one ever talks to me. lol. and it always seems like people only talk to me right when i was about to leave the house or something. lol. funny how that works.

 

i have the greatest urge to start singing alanis morrisette’s “hands clean” even tho i don’t know the words, or melody, and i’ve only heard it once. it just seems sort of appropriate to the way i’m feeling right now. i’m officially taking the stance of “not my problem” in almost everything right now. it’s self-centered and i don’t care. until someone comes to me and needs my help, it’s “not my problem”. i will always be here for any of my friends who need my help. even if i don’t like them. LOL. just know that. but for now, i’m done *wipes hands*.

so instead of alanis, i’ll just listen to the Broken EP. Staind’s “mudshovel” is a really good song when you’re pissed off. i got it in my head today cuz eric’s random lyric generator had a line from it. then i was like wow, this is so great if you’re pissed off (which i wasn’t at the time). i don’t own staind tho, so Broken will do. Eric and I decided to go in together on the Broken movie sometime this summer – so we can be completely disgusted, disturbed and thrilled by trent’s genius :). the bootleg guy at the flea market said he has it. i wonder about the quality tho. 10 bucks, so whatever. it’s better than the undistinguishable real video file i had.

i hope i don’t have to work friday night. since it’s my birthday and everything. i figured since i’ll have just finished training if i get scheduled wed and thurs, they wouldn’t want a new person working on such a busy night yet…hahah. but we’ll see. not like i have anything planned. carolyn and kurt were going to take me to dinner, but now it might not happen since carolyn got a job too. dunno. i don’t even care really. birthdays….whatever…no big deal.
