is it really necessary to rerelease Star Wars for the 14th time? i think that everyone who could possibly want the star wars movies probably has them by now. and bonus feature – the original theatrical release version. if that is considered the bonus material, than what the hell version of the movie is on the “regular” part of the dvd? now we all know my feelings on star wars (waste of time), but seriously, is there a market for yet another release of star wars on dvd? same with lord of the rings, i saw a whole new release (it seemed from the display) of the lord of the rings trilogy…if you didn’t buy the first 3 releases, then you probably won’t by this one either, i’d think. i just don’t get it…

oh daily show how i missed you the last 2 weeks. what a perfect day to return from reruns. thank you for coming back for the 2nd half of my recovery

(about humane hunting on tv becoming the nascar of hunting)
isn’t nascar already the nascar of hunting?
LOL

why is the “flintstones viva rock vegas” movie on sci fi channel?

i have a ticket for aerosmith/motley crue tomorrow. i so want to go but i can’t drive, and while i could find someone to come get me before the show, getting home would be the problem cuz everyone else will be drunk. and i don’t really want to bother any of them to come all the way out here to get me and take me home. everyone lives way out that way, i’m the only one “up north”.

still one of the most sickening images from sept 11th is the video footage of bush sitting in a classroom doing nothing. i don’t really know what i would expect a president to do when getting information of the country being under attack, but i would expect SOMETHING. not just to continue sitting there staring blankly into space. i can’t imagine that was the response of FDR when he recieved news of pearl harbor…

i’ve pretty much stayed away from shows on 9-11 until now, mainly because for the first time i have nothing to do except watch tv. alot of the information is new to me. like the complete breakdown of communication in government that morning. that bush couldn’t get the white house on the phone, and the white house couldn’t contact air force one. and that his motorcade taking him to the plane went the wrong way and had to turn around. then fighter jets sent up from a base near DC went the wrong way, out over the ocean instead and had to turn around. that the information about the 4 planes being hijacked was not sent to the military.that the military didn’t even know that flight 93 was hijacked until it had already crashed.

god cheney just looks evil.

about 10 years or so ago, in that interesting period of fandom, i knew a guy in kuwait. i had met him along with many friends i still talk to now, on IRC. another person who we both knew ended up going to kuwait to visit him, they were “dating” until all this drama came up – the whole muslim arranged marriage thing. there was alot of other stuff that happened that i don’t really remember anymore. then a few years ago there was a vh1 mj fan special and i knew the people on the show. one of them was this woman who had dated the guy in kuwait. i remember emailing her after all this time to see how she was and if she ever heard from him but she didn’t.

watching the sept 11th shows on cbc and i remembered him. i ended up finding her website, and her story about visiting him and got his name – Khalid Matar. There are probably thousands of ppl with that name, but nothing really comes up on the web for someone who could actually be him. wouldn’t it have been terrible if he had been on one of the planes? i can’t remember if he had ever come here to visit her, or if he had ever been here, but in his very poor english it never seemed as if he hated the US haha.

watching all this stuff about intelligence, makes me think about being a spy and how instead of needing to know russian, you’d need to know arabic. i wonder if aunt trudy could get a job with the cia…she knows 6 languages including arabic and lived in saudi arabia for years.

watching “inside the twin towers” on discovery channel. it’s interesting. it’s sometimes technical showing how and where the planes hit. the most striking thing is a man who was on one of the floors in the 2nd tower that was directly hit. he was looking out the window and actually saw the plane coming towards him. he dove under a desk right as the plane went through the building. duck and cover worked for him. just amazing. i can’t even imagine…the reinactments of what it was like to be inside the building – from reports of survivors – aren’t totally cheesy and ridiculous like the nic cage movie looked.

it’s just as sickening and terrifying as it was 5 years ago.

i plan on watching 2 9-11 documentaries on cbc tomorrow. the one of most interest to me is toxic legacy – about the bush administration cover up of the real dangers in the air after the collapse of the buildings. “an air that kills” had a whole section about the EPA finding significantly high levels of asbestos in the air, and in the dust that covered the inside of offices and apartments in the area. the entire building was coated in asbestos fireproofing. how could people think it wasn’t in the air?

the news, tho we’re not sure it’s correct, is that melody fair and the blue bird bus terminal on wurlitzer are to be demolished for a walmart…

now i’m not one of these walmart haters who blame the entire world’s problems on walmart. yeah they pay people shit, and make tons of money, and all those other things walmart is accused of doing/being, but hey, they sell things cheap, and i’m not rich so…but a walmart down the street from my parents. that thought makes me want to gag. i just can’t…fathom…a walmart down the street. it’s a totally weird location for a superstore like that. it wouldn’t have blvd frontage, just erie ave frontage…and…there are no other commercial attractions there except tim hortons. i just don’t get it. mom thought maybe she heard the story wrong and that it was walgreens…which would make more sense, except that would be the biggest walgreens ever if it was to use the melody fair and bus property…ug…a walmart in a residential neighborhood. barf.

prostitute boat racing on jackass. ha.

surgery

healing i guess. the one incision hurts when i move certain ways – including rolling over in bed – it just screams and feels sooo not good. but other than that i’m doing ok. the shoulders don’t hurt anymore. went out to a few stores with my mom yesterday. so yeah. progressing.

bored out of my mind however and it’s only been 3 days. watched all of carnivale season 1 to prepare for season 2 which i started watching last night. good stuff. as if a carnival, freaks, weird religion, and psych hospitals weren’t enough to make it the best series ever, they go and add atomic bombs. woo! it’s getting interesting. again.

finished “an air that kills” the asbestos book. things i learned from the asbestos book
1. asbestos isn’t man made, it’s a mineral
2. there are different kinds of asbestos which have varying levels of dangerousness
3. there is no ban on asbestos in consumer products!! it is still being mined and used in the US
4. there was and may still be asbestos in certain crayons. crayola now makes crayons without the talc which was contaminated with asbestos. dunno about the other companies though
5. asbestos is pretty much everywhere so we’re all gonna die
6. as if i needed another reason to hate the bush administration, they have to cover up the toxic dangers of 9-11, and fight asbestos regulation, along with haliburton and other big asbestos industry leaders.

don’t know which book to read next. didn’t finish “do fish drink water” so maybe that first. got a bunch from bookmooch to read now too.

so so so bored.

surgery

home and fixed i guess. i saw some pictures of the operation and it looked like i had alot of stones. he said there may be some stuck in the common bile duct so that if it turns out i still get pains i have to go back to the specialist and he can take that one out. yuck. anyway. things are fine. throat hurts from tube down my throat and of course the cuts don’t feel super nice but i’m fine.

so it was decided that phill and i are gonna get sabres season tickets. and the best part of it is, i don’t have to spend any money LOL. he’s gonna pay for both seats, then as we sell the games we’re not going to, once he’s gotten back all the money, we split the profits. it’s really the same as if i was gonna give him the 860$ now, then keep splitting money as we sell games. and this way is much easier and makes much more sense. in the end, we’ll be going to 6 games for sure, he’ll probably take his brother to a few, and i can take adr when/if she’s home around xmas, and we sell the rest. i worked out all the math, and we’ll make about 400$ each in the regular season, and who knows what in the playoffs.

listening to piggy from rochester made me all sorts of stupid giddy just knowing that while he was singing my face was in his stomach. and he was holding my hand. that it was MY piggy finally. haven’t gotten to “everyday is exactly the same” yet hahaha. i commented to adr2 that it’s a good thing you cant hear her yell “don’t let him go” to me during piggy, but that would have been hilarious if it had turned up on the bootleg hahah. still amazed at the quality of the recording. and i want a bass guitar just so i can learn to play “Burn”.

i’m selling my ti-85 calculator. and it’s almost sad, how dorky is that? lol. me and ole 85 went through alot…lots of tetris during studyhalls, programming it to store my calculus notes so i could cheat on tests…the entire pi chart values…is that what its even called? haha i hope stef’s kid doesn’t mind that it’s covered in stickers and sparkly nailpolish LOL. i forgot about that part.

surgery in 12 hours. back tomorrow i guess.
