voyeur of utter destruction as…disappointment?

went to byberry today. we found it fairly easily, and oddly, maybe it was just timing, but the security truck right away came and drove by where we were parked on a residential street behind the property. he went down the street, turned around and sat there watching us. so of course he saw me and adr2 and a tripod and getting jackets on etc. he drove back and by us again and we pretended to get back in the car. we didn’t know what to do cuz he so knew what we were doing. so we drove around to the other side of the property, thought we could go through the woods from this big office complex. so we went into the woods which seemed great til we found the creek. backtrack again, back to the residential neighborhood. parked a few streets up and walked to the property. then we’re walking into the complex and there’s someone else walking and watching us. great now what. well…no one came after us, so we just stayed.

sadly i was really disappointed. i can’t tell what it was that we went in, because the map shows a whole lot of stuff that i don’t think is there anymore but i think we went in w6 and n8. we walked around c10 and c11 but no way in. they looked like much older buildings, so we thought they’d be more interesting than the ones we went in – which seemed too new for my taste. the place is really destroyed, stupid graffiti everywhere. graffiti in meyer malting is really cool, good artistic tagging etc. this was just, so and so was here, and welcome to hell crap. but TONS of it. so it was yuck. and every floor looked the same, and it was uninteresting sameness. so yeah. maybe if we had been able to go with a “guide” they’d have been able to show us highlights. most likely won’t be making another trip back – possibility of finding brains or not. i took half a roll of film and maybe 15 digital pics (it’s completely useless without a tripod).

we are going to go to the pines and concord instead of hudson psych on monday with a “guide”. so i’m looking forward to that. should be much better than today.

had my 2 fillings, face was numb until i went to work. went as a pirate. and i made a pretty hot pirate if i do say so myself. my mom gave me a pheasant to wear since i had no piraty accessories but i couldn’t attach it. so most people didn’t know what i was til they realized i had an eye patch on my forehead (obv couldn’t wear it to do my job). if only it had been busy at work, like on a weekend (when they should have let us dress up), i’d have made super tips. they should let us dress slutty all the time haha. the shoes killed me though, totally cut the top of my feet up, so definitely not wearing them to any shows. or i’ll have to tape my feet up before hand lol. and everyone got to see my tattoo. “what does it mean?” “if you don’t know i’m not telling you”

jenn and jeff came over with megan as a pumpkin. very cute. she wasn’t scared of kitty this time. took kitty to my parents, and he didn’t freak out and go hide in the basement. so it’s a 2nd home for him now. as expected, the pumpkin full of candy that i left on the porch for trick or treaters was stolen pretty much immediately. oh well. someone got a bunch of old chocolate.

VACATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and wow i have so much shit to take lol

ok apparently the duty free shop in lewiston and the falls, and someplace on industrial drive on grand island, sell urban decay cosmetics?!?!? gonna have to check that out, cuz they have a product i want that is out of stock on the site. maybe it’s in stock at duty free. still confused about grand island though.

stressing over what to wear to work tomorrow. i can’t really go rock star-y cuz i need my clothes for the trip. i could wear the pirate outfit i bought last year and didn’t wear, except i don’t think it looks piraty. and i could wear the fishnet dress i bought for my birthday gift from tommy since i have no other reason to wear it. blah.

so don’t want to get up in 4 and a half hours.

nice day out at flinkote with dustin and his friend marcine. the machine room is still one of my favourite urbex locations ever. fence gates added to all entry ways but none were closed or locked. they had locks on them, they just didn’t use them. so it’s as accessible as ever. we found a really really nice bike in the lowest level, so there might have been someone else there. didn’t see anyone though. and i came home to an IM from chris that he was going to lockport. haha.

and i had no idea the 80s song “We Don’t Have To Take Our Clothes Off” was by Jermaine Stewart…A MAN! have you ever heard that song? years and years and years i thought it was a woman singing. but nope. it’s a man. wow.

i had the asbury park dream again. this time i was explaining the dream to an ex friend on a bus. but it was the same dream.

warning, ego post

i’ve decided that men cannot beat me at dr mario. and i’ve came up with my theory as to why this is. boys just don’t think as quickly, or as efficiently as girls. a girl who was good at dr mario, i’m sure could beat me. but even boys who are good can’t touch me. it’s sad really. i was watching tommy play alone after i killed him about 24 times, and i just saw so many more moves than the ones he did, and when he used the same move i would have, he found it and played it much slower. and that is why i always win. i just think so quickly when we’re talking spatial orientations.

and apparently i’m going to see cold with phill and dave in cleveland on nov 22nd. anyone else wanna go?

and i’ve gotten hookups to go urbex some places on the trip next week.

and joe clarified that the tea party really did break up. jeff martin moved off to ireland and didn’t even tell the other band members. classy guy.

and i folded all the newsletters today, getting lables and stamps tomorrow. finished laundry. found the 2 shirts i thought i had given to goodwill, in my trunk as i thought YAY. still didn’t map the driving route for the trip though, and still didn’t book the DC hotel. i’ll figure it out.

and something is really wrong with my shoulder. just carpal tunnel or tendonitis or something. gonna mention it to the dr when i go next month, maybe she can give me some exercises to do.

tonight’s commercial: “the biggest dump in the class”

and OMG just found out wonka comes out on dvd on the 8th. 2 disc special edition now preordered from deepdiscountdvd.com YAY! i’m hoping for killer extras.

oh oh oh!!! when i was in the falls today, there were people on scaffolding cleaning the united office building. and the door was open!! theres a big for lease sign on it now, so i’m gonna see if i can find someone to let me in to photograph it. signs of life, could mean permission! haha

music1: got the new depeche mode cd. it’s good. i think i like it better on first listen than exciter. they are one of those bands where i dont like a full album. i really would like to see them. but i looked at my bank account and it’s sooo not happy. maybe i can win tickets somehow haha.

music2: word on the street is the tea party broke up. dave told me on the bus to work yesterday. he said he saw it on their site, but i went today and only saw that their tour dates were cancelled for personal reasons. dave said jeff martin wants to go off on his own and do his solo stuff but didn’t rule out doing something with tea party years down the road. i guess it’s good that i saw them 983497 times.

music3: haha Burt Bacharach will get his first feedback from American audiences when he performs tunes from his new politically themed album with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra in Buffalo, N.Y., on Friday and Saturday.

music4: from i love the 80s 3d, hal sparks, “my friend used to call no jacket required, no talent required.” LOL

totally froze to death at the terminal today for 2.5 hours. i still haven’t warmed up and i even had soup. really tired too, almost fell asleep in the building haha.

and i think i realized why i wanted to be a psychologist. i was absolutely in love with Growing Pains, and Mr Seaver was a psychiatrist. i used to name my barbie dolls after the Seavers.

what a fantastic death abyss

work, boring. realized my next 2 pay checks are going to be for 2 days each. yikes. but i’ll be having a wonderful time on tour with nin for 10 days, and fitting some urbex in there probably too. we have a few days between cities that we’ll need to entertain ourselves, and i found a few sites en route. gotta make myself work 40 hour weeks for the rest of the year tho.

have to be at the terminal tomorrow at 1 to let some french photographers in. and williamsville school is coming to pick up their walls from the student show back in may. i’m gonna freeze all day long. hopefully i won’t have to be there forever. it’s cold and damp and yuck. and i need to finish the newsletter so i can have it printed and mailed in the next few days, regardless if i get the rest of the info for it that i need.

thursday i have to go to the dr again. getting my money’s worth from my health insurance.

wow. i was trying to tell about the hellacious quality of the Fuccillo car dealership commercials, and how they make me murderous. randomly i thought “the internet is a vast and wonderful resource, maybe some crazy fuccillo lover has recorded some of his stellar commercials and uploaded them to the net.” this is not the case, BUT, it amused the hell out of me to do a search for “fuccillo commercials” and get all sorts of pages of people talking about how much they hate him and his commercials LOL.

and holy mother of god, there is a fuccillo autograph auction on ebay

the end.

commercial 1: for a text message sex service….”if what you got is phat, let’s chat” LOL

commercial 2: disairono (spelling) alcohol. i swear to god they just said “with the smooth, sexual taste….” i’m betting they said sensual, but it SO sounded like sexual, and wow that’s just gross.

had work training class today instead of being at the u2 show in detroit. so lets say it was far less entertaining than what i SHOULD have been doing. did not learn a single thing i didn’t already know. maybe it’s just me and the fact that i had a training class for customer service less than 6 months ago at work, and that i went to management training classes for mcdonalds when i was 17 – but really. i know how to treat a customer. i don’t do it, but i know how i should do it hahaha. so it was pretty much a waste of 8 hours, and i think it’ll end up being a waste of the millions of dollars that the company is paying to have these consultants come in and train every single employee.

in other news, i finished the absinthe book, and i am now reading a book about a profiler and her 30 years of profiling serial killers. hoping not to scare myself shitless with the book. still no one has bought me the zodiac killer book i want. i also remembered that i ordered a book from half.com about the chicago serial killer during the world’s fair and i haven’t gotten it yet hmmmm
