i don’t know the whole story yet, but we got a semi-anonymous donation of one of Central Terminal’s light fixtures…it has no glass, but…!!! instead of 3 panels, there are only 2, and the top is a triangle. i can’t find any pictures that show where it might have been though…i’ll have to look around the building…maybe waiting room?

i saw a commercial for…i dunno some car…that was based on the old game Spyhunter. I LOOOOOVED spyhunter. I remember playing it on ang’s “computer”. i didn’t think anyone else knew that game, only because in talk of emulators and old atari games no one ever mentions it. very impressed by the commercial, but clearly it wasn’t effective in making me remember what kind of car it was advertising. ah here it is

given that the kids caught at the terminal in november were given community service to be done at the building – i have a new strategy for getting into the psych center…get caught on site, and get community service at the building hahaha

the more i look into it the more i really want to do route 66 this year, maybe in september. i figure i’d go west on rt 66 and then east on more or less, mapquest directions… which would take me through las vegas and i could visit adr, and through nebraska so i could go see aunt carol in omaha. i can’t really figure out how long i should reserve for this though…as one to not like making travel plans, i would go and stay at whatever random town i get to that day. take whatever side trips i feel like, such as the grand canyon and red rocks, and stop at whatever fun roadside attractions grab my interest. at approx 2550 miles, it’s a 37 hour drive apparently…maybe 2 weeks then? that gives me about a week to play with (chernobyl still a possibility). oh and most likely i’d be doing this alone. and while alot of people find that weird, i have absolutely no problem with. i’ve decided there are very few people i can travel with, and being in car for that long with someone i can’t travel well with might lead to murder 🙂 i’m getting some books to plan more, but…consider this 95% definite. my mom is gonna freak, esp at the going alone part.
found some cheap sabres tickets for the tampa bay game and went with leighanne. the team got booed off the ice at the end of the 2nd and responded with 6 goals for the win in the 3rd. so it ended up being a good game. washington got shut out by chicago so we’re back in 9th, 1 point back. we just need to win friday, and philly to lose friday…
so one of the articles about Spitzer’s prostitute was that she was upset that various media oulets were publishing exotic photos of her..and i thought.. YOU’RE A PROSTITUTE!!!!!!!! then it gets better…the girls gone wild guy offered her a million dollars to associate herself with GGW and do a tour or something….turns out that he went through GGW archives and found out that she did extensive video footage – 7 tapes worth – for his videos ages ago. yet she’s upset that exotic photos of her are being published in tabloids…and again…YOU’RE A PROSTITUTE!
of all things i decided to listen to metallica in the car today. i can’t remember the last time i listened to load. i still love love love “until it sleeps”. i don’t care what anyone else says. and king nothing, hero of the day, and bleeding me are just awesome
apparently on march 21st, the full moon, rolling rock brewery is going to advertise by using a laser to project their logo onto the moon. someone please tell me that is a joke. please, i beg you. because i couldn’t think of anything more horrendous than using the moon as an advertising device. if it’s true, and it works, that just begins a long line of companies who are going to start doing it, and who wants to look at the beautiful moon every day and see a fucking ad!?!?!
i had a nightmare about russell sending out an email regarding the lack of board participation in the dyngus day clean up and calling my dedication to the project into question. it made me so mad i woke up and couldn’t get back to sleep.
ok i’m not so cooking impaired that i can’t make corn muffins. i’ve made them 100s of times with no problem. until today. and really it’s not my fault. i turned the oven on to preheat, 400 degrees, as i mixed the muffins together. then the oven started shaking or something, the pans i had left on top were vibrating and i looked at the oven and it’s smoking. so i turn it off real quick and there is a bubble of something burning on the coil…except my oven is the cleanest oven you’ve ever seen outside the show room, and i’ve only ever used it to make biscuits…no pies or anything that could possibly boil over and drip. so i have no idea where this scum came from.
anyway…i’m out of luck, no oven because i’m too scared to turn it on and a bowl of muffin batter. well i have a toaster oven, it goes to 400 i’ll use that. i forgot how much toaster ovens completely SUCK ASS and turn off the heat in cycles…so the first 10 minutes the heat was on, enough that the back muffins started to burn…but were still raw and they all erupted like volcanos, which i’ve never seen before. then the heat turned off so the lava kept spreading. it turned on again after that for the last few minutes, allowing the lava to cook and the muffins to continue to burn…
mom came over to look at the oven and now it doesn’t heat up at all.
i ate 2 of them anyway.

i forget if i mentioned…i’ve committed to using firefox all the time. i’m using thunderbird for email now, and ff for browsing. thunderbird seems very slow, and i don’t like how firefox downloads things. but TB looks just like the netscape 4.7 interface i was using, so that’s what allowed for an easy switch. i also don’t like ff bookmarks, it won’t let me arrange them the way i want them (it won’t let me move my folders around, only alphabetical order). also, videos playing in firefox seem to skip alot…again seems like it’s running slow. but it’s ok so far. i’ll use IE to dl stuff, and watch videos, ff for the rest and for stumbling (which is awesome).
trent announced a ghosts film festival…where fans use the various ghosts tracks to make videos and they’ll be screened and shown on youtube. if only i was creative.
headline in yahoo: Explaining Spitzer scandal to children proving tricky for parents…my question is…why are they telling their kids about it in the first place? i’d like to think the 80s were a simpler time where things like this didn’t happen, but get real. they did, but i don’t remember them, because my parents didn’t feel the need to explain stories about famous people getting caught with prostitutes or little boy interns etc. why do they need to know? we have a new governor, he’s black, and he’s blind, isn’t that great? that’s what you could be when you grow up too! leave out the part about the old governor having a prostitute problem…

FINALLY a storm worth having a storm warning for. over 2 days we probably got about a foot, besides the 3-5 foot drifts. last night is the best night of the year at work – daylight savings, where we move the clocks ahead and i get to work only 7 hours but get paid for 8. except that, because of the storm, grave shift had 45 call ins – which is pretty much THE entire shift. so panicking that we were all going to get stuck working until noon, i signed to get out early. so i actually only worked 6 hours. i didn’t want to leave early, i wanted my 7 hours in, but i just couldn’t risk staying overtime that long. my car had about a 4 foot drift on one side, and 3 feet on the other. i almost didn’t get out of the space but i managed. roads were pretty good though, snow covered but plowed so you weren’t driving through 5 inches of snow. robert moses parkway was almost only 1 lane though because the right lane had so many drifts you couldn’t drive in it. my driveway however had snow above the front of my car.
i’ve realized that i make alot of bad decisions driving in the snow – like passing people in the unplowed lane. thankfully the results have not (yet) been disastrous.
but yay for me, my land lord decided to snow blow the driveway for only the 5th time this year at 11 am. it wouldn’t be such an issue except he snow blows it onto the house, thus onto my bedroom wall and it’s very loud. yesterday i was able to fall back asleep easily, today not so much. so i had to sleep later, now it’s quarter to 4 and i haven’t gotten ready for the day yet, and i have to go in early to help mary with toke committee stuff, so my day is pretty much wasted. no working on the hoodie today.
looking at 2 more houses tuesday, one as a courtesy to my agent but i’m not really interested in, and one on ruie that is new on the market, looks very nice despite wood paneling inside (whoever thought that was attractive, even in the 70s, is beyond me), and probably will go quicker than i could get mortgage approval if i end up wanting to buy it (and also has an asking price higher than i anticipate getting approved for, but oh well).
i think something is dead in my house. no it’s not the cat. something smells bad. not the dishes, washed those. not the sink/drain. not the garbage. not the cat box. i don’t know what else it could possibly be. i’m scared to find something tho…mouse or whatever. gross.
