i hate myself lol

so i’m reading the twilight series. stef bought and read them last week, offered them to me so i figured maybe i won’t be 10 years behind on this one haha. i am really enjoying it, and probably not for normal reasons. i find it really amusing, because i could have written it. in fact, the characters…i more or less have written. when i was writing in college as a way to procrastinate doing anything useful. especially “edward”…i pretty much already wrote him as “raine” in the last thing i ever wrote, except not a vampire…tho he was going to have mystical mind reading sort of skills and be related to voodoo queens of old, had i ever gotten that far. and bella is the classic clumsy normal girl everyone writes into their fan fictions online who grabs attention of the famous rock star who finds her fascinating. so i find it kind of funny. i’ll admit tho, i’m totally absorbed and i’m 300 pages in, in under 2 days. that’s saying alot, because i pretty much read for a half hour a night before bed.

i’m also reading one flew over the cuckoos next, which when i started, i realized i had no idea what it was about. and thinking about it, i never had any inkling of what it was about, i just knew it was a “classic” so i figured i should read it. it’s pretty great. crazy ppl in a mental hospital.

today was court for my cell phone use at a stop light ticket. i found out at work from another nt resident, their ticket was only $25. turns out, yes, improper cell phone use is a non moving violation, so with reduction to a city parking ticket, it’s only $25. i didn’t bother to argue my case for that little amount of money, i just wanted to go home and back to bed. moral of the story: if you’re going to get caught on the phone, get caught in NT, it’s cheap. cheaper than buying a bluetooth headset πŸ™‚

BCT ON GHOSTHUNTERS TONIGHT 9 and 11!

and i have sabres tickets for sale if anyone is interested. they’re going fast tho.

radio

while moving in i’ve been listening to the radio, specifically 103.3, because the owners left me an under the cupboard radio. radio sucks. they play 3 songs and then a half hour of commercials, and this is why i don’t listen. the music wasn’t bad, but i was surprised…the majority of what i heard was old stuff…nirvana, pearl jam, korn…90s stuff. i think in the entire time i listened, i heard maybe 5 songs i didn’t recognize. i was just surprised there was so much “old stuff” on there, and that it wasn’t full of bands and songs i wouldn’t know cuz i’m out of the loop. i sorta wanted to hear new stuff, maybe i’d “discover” something i liked.

at the nj show last month, people from sirius were handing out free 3 day trials online, so i finally signed up. i’m not sure if it offers every channel you get if you pay for the service, but there is a decent amount…and i still don’t like it. of course, looking at the rock stations, there are about 4 i’d listen to regularly and eh. i’m not hearing anything 1. new 2. that i like…there is a 90s alternative station, and it plays everything i already know. the “octane” high powered rock station plays crap i don’t like, like nickelback, and apparently nothing new either. alt nation says they play new stuff, but again, nothing i like. and why have a channel dedicated to specific artists, there is bruce springsteen, ac/dc, grateful dead,…just listen to the cds!!! pandora seems more useful, since it adjusts to what you like…

but anyway, if anyone wants to try it, the url is sirius.com/3forfree. you can’t listen to howard in the trial.

and with tons of notice, the hamilton presale is tonight. trent sent out a survey through email which was sorta amusing…asks for fav nin song ever, tough choice, and fav live song. i picked “last” just so maybe he’ll put it in the setlist in november hahaha when you finish the survey you get to download 100000000 live at red rocks, but i can’t watch it cuz my comp is too slow. it’s more like a slide show with audio for me hahah

i swear i’ll take pics of the house soon.

politics ugh

I can’t resist…

I’m a little confused. Let me see if I have this straight…..

* If you grow up in Hawaii , raised by your grandparents, you’re “exotic, different.”
* Grow up in Alaska eating mooseburgers, a quintessential American story.

* If your name is Barack you’re a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.
* Name your kids Willow , Trig and Track, you’re a maverick.

* Graduate from Harvard law School and you are unstable.
* Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you’re well grounded.

* If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate’s Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran’s Affairs committees, you don’t have any real leadership experience.
* If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you’re qualified to become the country’s second highest ranking executive.

* If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2 beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches, you’re not a real Christian.
* If you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and left your disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, you’re a Christian.

* If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education, including the proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society.
* If , while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no other option in sex education in your state’s school system while your unwed teen daughter ends up pregnant , you’re very responsible.

* If your wife is a Harvard graduate laywer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family’s values don’t represent America ‘s.
* If you’re husband is nicknamed “First Dude”, with at least one DWI conviction and no college education, who didn’t register to vote until age 25 and once was a member of a group that advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA , your family is extremely admirable.

OK, much clearer now.

and incase anyone missed it….remember a few years ago Al Gore invented the internet. This year McCain invented the BlackBerry… πŸ™‚

haha trudy

i absolutely love my aunt trudy, and some of you have met her and heard some of her stories. she is the aunt who lives in greece, fell off her house, has been everywhere, played with tigers in thailand, walked some insane like 1500km through spain earlier this year, and just finished a week long silent retreat. i emailed her my new address for the house, and she writes back that she’s internet dating hahah. also, she’s 65. she used a michigan zip code, so she can only find people in a 250 mile radius of clinton township where my other aunt lives, and wants to know if i know any world wide dating sites. hahah LOVE HER! i hope to god i am that interesting at 65.

and because even tho i’ve been out of school for 6 years, i’m a master procrastinator, i work at 10 tonight yet i haven’t packed anything more. i’ve been playing stupid games and watching vh1’s i love the millenium. which i have to say seems kind of silly. only because we are now on 2007 which was…*drum roll*… LAST FUCKING YEAR! i love the 80s in all it’s versions was a great series, i love the 90s was not as good, perhaps because we haven’t forgotten the 90s completely yet…i know i definitely have not forgotten LAST YEAR. but i admit, this series seems better than the 90s one, and i can’t figure out why. it can’t be because the 90s had less culture than the 00s because we’re in a serious cultural void atm. i have to disagree with their statements about “guy-liner”…they say to stop because girls don’t like it. um no, it’s fucking hot, all guys should wear eyeliner hahaha

ugggh politics

“Palin leaves open option of war with Russia”…seriously? so tell me, if mccain drops dead before November, but gets elected, she becomes pres right away?

my dad thinks you should have to take a short test, maybe even one question, before you are allowed to vote. because all these fucking morons who are going to vote for mccain because palin is “hot” are going to doom us all to bush part 3…i will respect anyones political opinions if those opinions are based on some solid fact, or are at least rational. but i hear so much shit from people that is so completely irrelevant as a reason to elect someone it makes me sick. not sick, really fucking angry. one guy at work said he likes palin because she’s a “rebel”…excuse me? “rebel conservative” is an oxymoron. how is she a rebel? he couldn’t say. i mentioned that she’s a governor of an entire state with less population than WNY, and he just pointed out obama was only in the senate for 2 years (wrong, he was elected in 2004, began Jan 4, 2005). he went onto say that we haven’t been attacked since 9-11 with republicans in office – yes because that is the EXACT reason we haven’t been attacked in the last 7 years. i even said, how is that at all relevant, and he didn’t answer me. i’ve given up trying to have educated conversations about politics at work because all these republicans just attack me with things like “oh you’re a liberal you must support the terrorists” and “i love war, it’s awesome”. republicans/conservatives will never change my point of view, but it would really be nice to meet someone who knows why they believe the things they do and can have a rational conversation about them.

i should say, i failed my dad’s example question “who are your state senators”…but my vote, in ny, doesn’t count anyway hahah.

you can get 2 star hotel in atlantic city on hotwire for $19…there is something very very wrong with that hahahaha got my ticket, no problem.

astroland at coney island has closed for good. man…i had really wanted to go there and never had the chance πŸ™

i hate the first season of the simpsons. how’d the show stay on the air this long haha

nin tix

presale for atlantic city on monday…opener called health…wow going to be so terrible. opener for hamilton is called boris, but their site doesn’t have any samples that i can find. they appear to be japanese.

oops

“The last two records were very personal, with a kind of three piece at their heart, the primary colours of rock – bass, guitars and drum. But what we’re about now is of the same order as the transition that took us from The Joshua Tree to Achtung Baby,” he says.

oh please please please bono be speaking the truth…

in other news, i got a ticket for answering my cell phone and spending 15 seconds on it, at a RED LIGHT. yes i know NY law is you can’t use a phone without a headset while driving, but technically i wasn’t driving. i was at a stop light. i answered it when the light was red, i hung up when the light was red…i saw the cop turn around and come up behind me. i had time to back up and change lanes so i could switch from going left, to going right, and still sat there at the red light….loooong after i had hung up. so i don’t feel like i’ve done anything wrong. does anyone know what the law actually says, do i have a case to fight it? i saved the call log in the phone, that says it was 15 sec long, and anyone in the city should be able to find out how long the light stays red on meadow dr….as usual the ticket doesn’t say how much the fine is, or i would just pay it. otherwise i’m due at court on the 24th at god awful 9:30am. i’ve never heard of traffic court that early wtf….ok i looked up the law, from the NY state website, which states “no person shall operate a motor vehicle upon a public highway while using a mobile telephone to engage in a call while such vehicle is in motion.” and my vehicle was absolutely NOT in motion, so i don’t think i should have gotten a ticket.

and trent added a one off, intimate stripped down club show at house of blues in atlantic city on Nov 6th. so he just made my tour decision for me…it’s a thursday, i have one and a half vacation days left so i’m going to go to that show, refund worcester and skip that one, and then just hamilton the following friday.

checking out the new 90210, the grandmother from Arrested Development is the grandmother on 90210, and it’s the same character LOL drunk and insulting hahah she’s the best part of this show! naomi looks my age and is supposed to be turning 16. the main character, annie, really does look like she could be uncle jesse’s wife’s daughter (lori laughlin).

funny trent

so my dear friend emily in salt lake city works concerts out there as a runner and was working the nin show. not only did she tell me what she had to go out shopping for, for trent…she had nothing to do during the show so she got to watch (sweetest job ever) and trent’s speech tonight included “coldplay is nowhere near as good looking as us. Not a chance.” ROFL god love trent talking this tour

oh, and yeah, i own a house now.
