i dreamed about discussing the movie “office space” with someone, and how all my RIT friends would quote it constantly.
one game down 15 more to win 🙂 playoffs began tonight. i bought a new jersey. hahah. i’m a sucker. i’m still awaiting my tax refund so that’s my justification hah. a blue, blank, kids xl, fits great!! we get to wear jerseys to work on game nights YES!!! that’s the other reason i bought it. anyway. win tonight, and a convincing one. it’s hilarious that everyone boos when satan touches the puck. at first we didn’t notice if people were booing or not, then we realized they weren’t booing because satan had barely touched the puck the entire game. but when he did, the loudest boos i’ve ever heard haha. there was only about 5 of them. he was that much of a non-entity in the game. great fun.
ran into joe when talking to kevin between periods. econoline crush, toronto, memorial day weekend…so may 26th. gonna be tough to get that day off but i think i have a personal day to use. must see trevor this time, buying ticket now haha.
this is weird. “Newlyweds met when he texted the number running through his head. ” article on yahoo. what is weird about it, is during college when i still tried to write fiction, i had begun a story just like that. the main character dreams numbers, dreamed a phone number, which ended up being this intreguing guy in new orleans (NOT TRENT haha). how funny.

1. picnic on the plaza I: 2003 – a train went by during the picnic, blew its horn, and the entire crowd started cheering.
2. the first 2 bct tours: 2003 – finally seeing the place, brian, james on the raft in the tunnel, “she went down the hole” etc
3. 75th anniversary
4. spencer tunick installation day. except for realizing russell would be exiting the building naked. ha.
5. sitting in the catwalks talking with dan and josh/curiousgeorge. who knows where dagr had wandered off to at that point.
dyngus day
happy dyngus day. this year was the first dyngus day parade, and first dyngus day party back at the terminal since the early 80s. and it was damn cold. as expected. having to work i only got to stay until 6, but the best thing, sabretooth! he was on one of the parade floats and came in the building for a bit. love sabretooth. in a purely snuggly stuffed animal way, and not in a plushy/furry sort of way hahahah. just wanted to clarify. also, best thing, iraq war protesters in the parade. fabulous. as i left, the line was out the door and down the plaza, with a good number of people inside already. me thinks we’ll be doing this next year.
on the ride home i started thinking about my top 5 BCT moments of the past 5 years, will have to post them later. i’m sick and freezing and now off to work. totally leaving early today. i can do that now without feeling bad since i get paid so much extra to be on toke committee hahah.
sabres vs islanders in round 1. game 1 is thurs, we’re so there.

and the sabres now clinched 1st place overall in the NHL for the first time ever. home ice throughout the playoffs and finals. now we just have to figure out who we get to play. i am praying for toronto. pleaaaaaaase let it be toronto. talk about best series ever, and $$$$$$ for me!!! islanders would be automatic first round win, but less $$$ for our tickets hahahah…

my good buddy perezhilton posted about linkin park a few days ago, comparing their new video to NIN…saying that NIN had “been there, done that” ages ago. well the video had been taken offline so i didn’t get to watch it until now.the video…holy crap if the beginning piano wasn’t reminiscent of something i can never have. but then the vid didn’t seem to compare much, i was thinking it was something akin to the closer video. until I got 40 seconds in, and i swear to god that’s the same clip NIN used in the projections during “right where it belongs” on the with teeth tour. the flame thrower guy. and suddenly everyone is “aware” of…whatever…politics, environment, darfur, whatever…beyond that i see no resemblance.
4 days back at work and i think i’m getting sick already. the mood at work was slightly as if nothing had happened, but slightly not. it wasn’t being talked about as much as i had expected it to be. it was busy and no players (though i didn’t have many) said anything about it, no news crews or anything. mentioned it with a few people, but beyond that, no one was talking. they’ve left hand outs in employee areas for how to deal with traumatic events, and info on the employee assistance program. it really didn’t affect our shift beyond knowing who it was…
and i am related to this guy. he was a pro baseball player, played for the yankees. i think it’s funny that there is a poem about him, and a sound clip of announcers talking about him. i decided to google image search my last name…he comes up before me or my parents do…and also something comes up that appears to be one of vincent van goghs childhood drawings
so the suicide is all over the news now, and the main focus of the news reports is the fact that someone got through security with a gun, and asking how on earth that could be possible. maybe that’s because, like malls and stores etc we don’t have metal detectors, or xray scanners, and you don’t have to get frisked or take off your shoes. they’re making a big deal about patron safety if someone can just walk right in with a gun. how about this, you could get shot anywhere, and are more unsafe on the nearby streets than inside the casino. and how about the fact that HE SHOT HIMSELF! wtf do you want? you want to get frisked and sent through metal detectors each time you come in? this isn’t the first shooting/suicide in a casino and i’m sure it won’t be the last. yeah, it’s terrible, and sad but come on. there are other more important things to worry about i think.
the news claims that he shot himself over a break up with one of our dealers. that jives with what mary had found out from people who were there. (one being jenn’s husband jeff, who was standing behind the guy when it happened. he’s ok thankfully). however gambling related or personal problem related, i still wouldn’t have expected this from him. he was not on my list of people i had hoped it was. i know, i’m terrible.
We Will Rock You
we will rock you – so fantastic. i’ve always thought queen’s music was made for musicals haha. so of course, now that it actually IS a musical, of course it’s fabulous. one of the great things about it, it’s a comedy too. and it’s up to the minute contemporary, making reference to britney spears shaving her head. they also make an effort to connect to the audience – canadian jokes and references. so it was very amusing as well as having excellent singers and a cute story. well…don’t know if cute is the word. it’s not exactly “deep” but it’s fun, making fun of pop culture. the basic plot is it’s 300 years in the future and the world is run by a single giant corporation and everyone dresses the same and acts the same and listens to the same computer programmed music. an underground resistance group is trying to bring back the rock by finding “the dreamer” who is the only one who can find brian may’s hidden guitar, to save the world. and it ends in front of the ruins of wembley stadium hahah. one of the main girl characters is played by susie who was on Rockstar INXS. kinda funny since Mig on Rockstar INXS had been in the London production. anyway. loved it. cute, funny, great music, great singing, definitely recommend if you have the chance.

a player shot himself at a table at work this morning. i think we’ve all been waiting for this to happen. no other news about it right now. very disturbing. i wonder who it was and who was working there when it happened…*edit* found out who it was. completely unexpected. would never have thought it from him…:(
