america’s next top model #6 marathon. oh my god, molly sue is absolutely stunning. gorgeous. but i’m not sure if i think that because she’s so beautiful, or because she looks like “brian slade” from velvet goldmine hahahaha

and bring on round 3!

poor ottawa… 🙂

whew tired. so today didn’t exactly go as planned. headed up to welland to meet ian and go explore atlas. found him, and he drove around the site. gah, to die for. *drool* we head to the building that was accessible, and oh wait, there are trucks and people and work being done. crap! went back to the car, and drove around trying to find some other stuff he knew about. didn’t find anything so we ended up at his school to use the comp lab to find something. we find a hydro plant and head out there. except when we get there…it doesn’t exist anymore. crap! at this point we had no other ideas for welland, i don’t know the place at all, and he only went to school there. so i suggested we go down to toronto hydro in the falls. head back that way, i get lost and end up WAY up river and backtrack to the building. except when we get there, there are all kinds of trailers, construction equipment, pump trucks, and workers all around it. CRAP. wtf! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. now at this point, i suggest a safe bet – carbosil. we head across the border and to carbosil. and if there was work being done at carbosil i would have shot someone. but there wasn’t. just huge snails. so we get there, and oh yeah, it started raining when we were still in welland, and it was pouring when we got to carbosil. so i used amira’s sweatshirt that was in my trunk as an umbrella to walk to the building, once inside, it’s full of toxic sludge lol. so we traipse around in the sludge, i finally managed to climb up the one ladder to the crane controllers and catwalks. my hands were completely black with whatever this shit is that is everywhere in the place. very healthy. the guided missile case is still there, bigger than i remember, but it still doesn’t seem big enough to hold the missiles that i found online. anyway. washed myself off a bit in a down spout, but i still have to throw those shoes out now. i had black sludge all over my camera bag, i tried to wash it in the bathtub and now there is black shit in the bathtub. i’m going to die.

so anyway, had a good time, next time we have to pick better locations haha

then rushed my way downtown for the game. loss. it’s all good though. it wasn’t all that exciting, not just because of low scoring, i dunno it was weird. not as much energy as yesterday. back to back games, tires everyone out 🙂 sabretooth has the best commercial that they play during tv time outs…
*sabretooth brushing his tooths*…toothbrush and floss $5
*sabretooth using hair spray*…hair products $7
*sabretooth using lint brushes full of red fur*…lint brushes $115
*sabretooth walking out of his house*…a date with stanley cup…*sabretooth and the cup*…priceless
haha so cute! they played this TOTALLY lame date with the cup thing with 2 soap stars, the girl wanting to break up with stud to date the stanley cup. it was so awful. people were like, WE DONT LIKE THIS! IT’S NOT EVEN A LITTLE CLEVER!

it’s better to win the series on the road anyway 🙂

so wiped out. feel crappy from toxic sludge and denny’s food haha

“Maybe it’s time to stop referring to them as the “No-name” Buffalo Sabres.

So much for a Sabres team that was counted out since the start of the season for being too young and lacking marquee talent. Buffalo, making its first postseason appearance since 2001, is one win from eliminating the top-seeded Senators. ”

3-2 buffalo in overtime. BRING THE BROOM!

“The Senators outshot the Sabres 44-17 on Monday” LOL but another win for buffalo 2-1. incase anyone is keeping track ottawa has now won 3 of 13 post season games vs buffalo. HA! apparently there is a pre-game party at the arena or possibly pearl street, that my mom expressed some interest in haha. she’s all excited. i had a scare while trying to get my tickets printed at tops today. i gave the girl my 2 confirmation emails, and she comes back with 1 ticket…um WHAT? she showed me the screen, it said 1 ticket. i was like um NO, 5 tickets for 2 games, i spent 300$ i better damn well have more than 1 ticket to 1 game. she ended up calling tickets.com and it turned out she just didn’t know what she was doing. thank god.

since the 14g earrings didn’t do any stretching, i want to go to 12g already…

gregg who once told me i could be a character in a tim burton movie, today described me to a player as “poetry in motion. like a flower blooming in stop motion.” LOL

got my film, the end of rhyolite, and the rest of the pics from the sanitarium. i think the sanitarium is one of the most difficult places to photograph. so many things look so cool, and i just can’t capture it well. me in the safe did not turn out. exposure was too short. next time. i almost want to go back up there JUST to retake the photo. maybe i should just work on crawling into safes at the terminal. they’re all pretty huge though so it’s not hard.

when i feel like i have time (i still feel super rushed about something, tho i have nothing really to do) i think i’m going to redo instituionalgreen.com . i want to put more historical context with some of the locations, and possibly make it a bit nicer to look at. i wish i liked simpleviewer better, but i hate how it resizes the photos. they get all jagged and sucky. i probably will have to stay with gallery unless i can find something that is pretty and easy to update…no such thing

craaaazy dream

dream

somehow it had been arranged that i was going to get married to victor at work. and for some reason i agreed to this plan although we never talk and don’t know each other all that well. so time went on with the knowledge that we were going to get married, but then i started to have 2nd thoughts. but i didn’t tell anyone because our shift manager terry had been paying for everything involved with this plan. he paid for the engagement ring, and he was paying for us to go out to vegas with a bunch of our friends to get married. so then we’re out in vegas and there happens to be a nin show, so me and all the nin friends we met are there to see the show. i tell everyone that i’m getting married and that i didn’t want to anymore. so someone convinced me that i should tell vic and cancel the whole thing. i still felt bad that terry had spent so much money on the whole thing. so i’m walking around and i see sam, a player from work, at one of the games. i stop to talk to him and i told him i was getting married, and he was like “again?”. so i said i hadn’t ever been married before. then i guess it’s the day of the wedding and i go to whatever casino we were having the ceremony at, and vic is there with some other people from work. i sat down with him and i told him that i didn’t think we should get married, since we didn’t know each other real well and everything. i told him we should just wait, hang out and actually date, and then get married. he seemed really sad, and didn’t really say anything, just looked sad. so i felt bad again, and said fine we can get married. we had the ceremony and then we were all back at home again. i had to get used to introducing people to my husband and i just couldn’t get used to having to say that. we still didn’t really talk or hang out, but we were happy i guess. we were going to be moving into some factory or steel plant that had been redone into apartments, so i went shopping for curtains with my new sister-in-law.

wtf.

somewhat interesting…i always knew a distant relative of mine played for the new york yankees way back when. i accidentally found a website with his stats. he apparently won a world series and was in an all star game. i know nothing about baseball stats tho to tell if he was really any good. i think i remember being told he led some category some season haha. it was the war years, but i don’t think he was a replacement player, it seems he was better than average.

wednesday i’m taking the real camera for a picture with sabretooth.

i decided to stretch my ear holes. not super huge or anything, probably not beyond 8 or 10. but i went and bought 14g tapers today and they fit fine. i knew i should have bought 12 to start. oh well. my one ear hurts like a bitch from something i did to it last week, i don’t know what. i really gotta do something about a tattoo though. i don’t know what i want other than possibly art deco, and vines. i definitely can’t draw anything…

and i’m totally unreliable and irresponsible. i didn’t go to the clean up today. head hurt too bad so i kept sleeping. must go tomorrow.

so anyone around here reading back in 2002 will already know my opinion on NIN’s “still” ep (*ahem* 30 posts in one day when “andallthatcouldhavebeen” was released), but i will repeat in short…it’s one of the best EPs ever. EVER. but having said that, i don’t listen to it a lot. i actually have some odd sort of aversion to it. i don’t really know why. i sort of get flash backs to the drama of my senior year in college, but not completely. and i sort of get into a strange mindset when listening. but i still love it, and think it’s incredible. listened to a few tracks on the drive home tonight and probably will listen to it in bed. i haven’t listened to any NIN since downloading the cabazon boot when i got home from vegas. i threw it in yesterday on the drive home from jackson sanitarium, since it was a long drive where i could listen to “the fragile” discs back to back. thinking about setlists…i could pretty much trade every TDS song currently being played (well not “reptile” but especially “hurt”) in favor of “heresy”, “the becoming”, “ruiner” and “i do not want this”. throw in “mr self destruct” every few shows. that’d be good. take out the behind-the-screen-intermission that now bores me in favor of another instrumental type break like the “la mer”, “the great below”, “the mark has been made” section of the fragility tour (not necessarily those songs, but instrumentals are nice). and i’d do anything to hear “last”. at this point i’d replace any song in the set for “last”. i don’t think i need to hear “dead souls” anymore, and as far as soundtrack songs go i think anyone would die for “the perfect drug” though i’m not sure how that’d translate live…it would still be great to hear. i think i’m good with the PHM songs…for some reason i really can’t listen to that album much anymore. i’d like “sanctified” i guess, if anything. i think i’m done with “something i can never have” now too. it’s amazing, but it can go now. i actually could probably do without “head like a hole” too. not sure what would replace it but that’s not my job. so i really shouldn’t be saying any of this hahaha.

ug, gotta be up early for the clean up. and i totally forgot i have to stay there past 1 to meet with this guy who wants to put together a hip hop compilation (and yes i totally typed “complication”) to benefit central terminal. well we couldn’t be accused of being a white middle class hobby anymore hahaha.

and speaking of complication…heather and i were looking at the art at the show opening wednesday, and i hear 1 note of a song and exclaim “ITS NINE INCH NAILS”…it was “complication”. i was excited. i can name that NIN song in 1 note….hahahahah

and OMG…SABRES! beat ottawa 7-6 in OT. fanfuckingtastic. my pocket was vibrating all night. when the hotel gaming floor bar screamed i knew the sabres tied it at 5…but someone reported it was then 6-5, heard the bar scream again, tied again. then knew we won when they screamed right after overtime started. ha it was fantastic. finally managed to see the highlights on ESPN, connelly makes some fantastic plays man…my mom called after the game to leave me a message that it was “a breathtaking game”. wait til she’s actually AT a game ha.

exploring day

went out exploring today with dagr/ian. i met him with dan and monkey boy josh last year when i took them to the terminal. ian’s from welland so it’s not too far. he called from a hotel in rochester, so i suggested jackson sanitarium in dansville and headed out to meet him down there. i don’t know anything out in rochester really, and there was no time for research. anyway spent a few hours in the building, and looked around the basement for the first time in 4 trips – i remembered my flashlight this time haha. found some really great pamphlets from when the place was owned by mcfadden and marketed as an expensive resort/spa. 2$ enemas. 3$ colonic flushing (what is the difference?). found a bill for over 1400$!! from 1958!! that was tons back then. i’ll be scanning those once they dry out and flatten out.

once we finished there, ian had found another place in town while he drove around waiting for me, so we went out there. i was a bit iffy about a blue truck that showed up and sat there, so i didn’t go in, but he went in for a quick look around. will have to check it out if i’m down that way in the future. it’s not exciting enough to warrant a special trip. we decided to go back to buffalo, so he followed me home and i took him to cargill – he hadn’t been to any of the grain elevators before. the sun was setting which always makes cargill look extra pretty, so it was good timing on our part. lots of turkeys hanging about. like…birds, not idiots. and deer in the river. spent some time there, and i took him to the marine star to scope out the unfortunately new graffiti on the boat. makes me mad that someone got on the boat when i still can’t, and that they went and ruined things with spray paint. oh well.

since none of these locations were new to me i spent most of my time taking stupid self portraits. we’ll see how lame they come out haha…i tried to crawl into a small safe for one of them, real low light, we’ll see if it turns out at all. i hope so, cuz i ended up with dust and plaster down my pants lol.

time to check out some of the digi pics i took…oh, one note. i hadn’t been there since the trip with lei, james and brian, so i made sure to stop by the room where james had put together a small art installation to see if any was left…

2.5 rolls of film to get developed later…

how is this for good luck. the games 3 and 4, which i bought tickets for, are next wednesday and thursday. how convenient! no need to ask for it off!

so today i had the wallpaper done. it already improves the kitchen loads. the floor is hideous still, more so now without the pink wallpaper. before it just blended in to the ugliness. i think it would be fun to get fake grass indoor/outdoor carpet for the kitchen hahaha. i gotta look into that.

the walls were finished earlier than expected so i headed up to oakville to get heather. we went to h&m real quick and got dinner at east side marios. it’s like the canadian equivalent of olive garden, but it seemed a bit better, but with a less than stellar drink menu (aka no “frozen tiramisu” drink). tried to drive down king street west in toronto to find the navarro gallery and see if they had the BCT light on display. couldn’t find it, it helps to have an address. then went to steamwhistle brewery for the DK photo group show opening, The forgotten art of decay. it was cool to see the work they’ve done and pretty inspirational. looking forward to whatever tomorrow brings with dagr. and it was nice to see heather again, we figured out it’s been about a year since we hung out. caught up on everything, and hopefully it won’t be another year again next time.

now 200 more newsletters to fold and label. i think next time we gotta look into having the printer do this folding. it’s a bit much now, and obviously they won’t be out in the mail until tomorrow…grr. i don’t like the way they printed them this time, but i had already asked them to reprint them once, thus causing the delay in me getting them in the mail. but i don’t like the 2nd print either. didn’t feel like fighting with them anymore.

and WOW…i think girls gone wild has gone a bit too far now. as far as i understood the videos just used to be drunk girls at mardi gras and spring break flashing the camera for a stupid tshirt. the commercial that was just on for the new girls gone wild is like straight out porn now. lesbian porn, “first timers”, girls masturbating. WOW. if the guy is still tricking girls into these videos like he used to, he really should be sued.

so there will be no game 7. sabres won 7-1 to eliminate philly. bring on round 2, ottawa. it was sorta cute, i kept feeling my phone vibrate in my pocket while at work…phone calls and not text messages. and lots of phone calls always stress me out because no one calls me, therefor it must be something bad. nope. it was my mom calling to tell me sabres scored, and it was 4-0. then she called again to tell me it was 5-0. then called me again to say it was 6-1. then again to say it was 7-1 final. so i had alot of messages from her. she was disappointed that we wouldn’t get to go to a game thursday, so i told her i’d take her to a 2nd round game. so i have to get up at 9 tomorrow to get tickets, besides the fact that kathy is coming at 9 to start the wallpaper in the kitchen.

“Ottawa dropped 1st 2 playoff series against Buffalo (1997 and 1999), winning 3 of 11 games. ” from ottawa’s website. that’s some good news. ottawa always chokes in the post season. counting on it 🙂
