marathon

wow the sabres game was a marathon. 2 overtimes. i wish i could say i got my money’s worth out of the game but…since i didn’t pay for the ticket it doesn’t quite seem fair LOL. but yeah. defintely worth it for sure. we took phil’s bro and his friend to dave and busters before the game. for those who don’t know it, it’s a restaurant with a huge arcade and bowling alley and other nonsense. like the boston pizza on clifton hill in the falls canada. ate and headed down to the arena. last row 300 level, but wtf who cares. you can see the whole ice. and later it turns out the scratched players were sitting in a box behind us. andrew peters kept leaning over to talk to people and everyone started throwing the shirts we got when we walked in up to him to sign. taylor pyatt (hott) was up there too and peeked out a few times. so hott.

anyway. the game was great. we looked like we had it made, until tony lydman became this year’s zhitnik and took 3 penalties and cost us the lead, almost cost us a goal in OT, but we pulled it out in the 2nd OT. it was fabulous! 58 shots, we should have won the thing 15-1 as phil predicted haha. but no matter, a win is a win. we get to go to work and rub it into pit greg tomorrow, as he loves the flyers. we’re gonna bring him a broom when we sweep later this week 🙂 it was so stressful and tiring by the time the 2nd OT came around…

sometimes i wonder if other people catch the humor and appropriateness of some of the songs that the arena organ guy plays…because it’s quite funny sometimes but i have a feeling that most people miss it…

took a picture with sabretooth when we got in and it was fabulous but i forgot to hit save so i lost it..next time. and still no sabretooth stuffed animals. boo. there is a fun bus stop billboard with a photo of sabretooth as if he’s waiting for the bus hahaha. i want it.

fun fun fun. i still hadn’t heard from channel 2 so i emailed every night time, weekend days, sports casters and daybreak people about seeing the cup on monday morning. i actually got a reply from stu boyer but he didn’t know what was going on with it. gave me a few numbers to call, of people who will be in on monday but that may be too late for me. i think i might just go down monday morning and be like yeah, i’m here to see the cup. and if they have a list of people and i’m not on it, i’ll give them my phone and play the message for them from jodi johnston because i haven’t deleted it yet hahaha. I WANNA SEE THE CUP DAMNIT!

10,000 days…

i got an advance of tool’s new album “10,000 days”. with all the driving i did today, and their massively long songs, i’ve only gotten through track 8 but i think it’s safe to form an opinion on the album. it’s…tool. that’s for sure. it’s that tool sound where you could hear one note and know it’s a tool song…and i can’t say that i’m disappointed in it, because i really don’t hold tool up on that pedistal where what they do can or cannot disappoint me…but…seriously, the album is lateralus part 2. at many points in the album i thought i was listening to “Schism”…ok now this is not a bad thing necessarily because i really like lateralus, but…maybe they need a bajillion years between albums so that they come up with a slightly different sound from the previous album. lateralus didn’t sound like aenima…but this one definitely is an extension of lateralus. now my problem with that is i can’t listen to lateralus, or this album i can already tell, for a long time because the sonic texture starts to get to my head…i don’t have that problem with aenima and undertow. and nothing so far off 10,000 days has really blown me away like parts of lateralus did. but maybe upon further complete listens….so it’s good. it’s definitely good, i don’t think tool could ever put out anything bad unless maynard did it on purpose to make a joke haha…you’ll love it if you loved lateralus and you might not if you loved undertow. i didn’t try to get tickets to the toronto show, trying to win a pair. but they’ll be around again at some point so i’m not stressing.

game tomorrow. i guess we’re taking phil’s brother and his friend to dave and busters to eat before the game. i dunno it doesn’t matter to me so i didn’t really pay attention lol. i haven’t heard back from channel 2 yet, the anchor that called me does the early morning show so she must have been gone already when i called back. maybe they’ll call tomorrow. grr. they better! hehe

didn’t do a damn thing at work tonight and left 2 hrs early…i should count tokes sunday to make up for the money.

and for those who were worried, kitty has settled in quite nicely. just took about an hour of hiding in the closet and behind the couch.

lord stanley

a few weeks ago channel 2 was asking for suggestions on where to display the stanley cup when it is in town on Monday. i had written in the suggestion of central terminal of course. well they called me today and offered me the chance to go down to channel 2 on monday at 6am to see the cup and get my picture taken with it and stuff hahaha. so i gotta call them back and say yes of course. i’ll just go down there after work. but haha how weird

a fridge full of condiments and no food….

except that i don’t have the condiments either. just 2 packs of pop. and if it’s even possible, i get less of a cell phone signal here, than i did at the old place.

anyway….mostly everything is moved to the new place, some random things still at the old place, plus all the stuff in the fridge. i guess i’ll go get that tomorrow unless i feel bored later…not likely though.

(aside: i love the song that plays when “jack” and tyler starts fight club…like…the official start, when they go into lous and down to the basement. what song is that?)

things are pretty much set up, some things to be arranged later when other things get out of the way…getting used to the weird sounds and having someone living above me again. but as i understand my new neighbor works at/owns country cafe and gets up to go there for the breakfast shift…so she’s getting up as i’m coming home… and seems to have gone to bed, or at least stopped walking around before 10.

(god tyler durden is SO hot)

i don’t have too much else to say. yep.

nin tour retrospectical

a review of the NIN tour…so far…

best show – experience wise: still torn between toronto club 1 and rochester…
best show – band/setlist wise: philly club 2 with trent pissed off and throwing shit
worst show: erie…passing out and getting pulled not my idea of a good time
best drive/travel: the drive from buffalo to DC…not sure why, but there was alot of the 3 of us hysterically laughing at things we drove by…
worst drive/travel: gah the flight from hell buffalo-dallas-los angeles-san luis obispo, the dallas delay, missing my connection in LA…trying to see the white house in DC…driving in Erie.
most interesting “new” city: cincinatti…dunno why but i was sort of impressed by it, even beyond cinci union terminal, and bad directions and signage
worst “new” city: torn between toledo and wilkes-barre…toledo is bitchin
best line experience: reno!! even tho the cabazon line was great too…
worst line experience: wilkes-barre…too damn cold and the wind!
best crowd:…hmm…cabazon of course, except for the asshole mexican and the guy who used my neck to get up off the floor.
worst crowd: toronto arena skinheads
roughest show: toronto club shows…still haven’t been as injured as that…
funniest show moment: starfuckers in cabazon…the curtain getting caught on the speaker stack in wilkes-barre and the resulting spinal tap moment…
most cracked out person: the drug addict in…philly? i forget where haha…in november…who kept punching himself in the head, and then leaned on me with his 105 degree body
most ridiculous fan: devil girl LOL
scariest moment: toronto club 1, security not being able to get a crowd surfer off me while i was completely bent over the rail, my ribs about to break and lungs to collapse…
most twilight zone moment: hearing staind’s “it’s been awhile” 3 times on the radio in ohio, and matthew wilder’s “break my stride” 2 times en route to ottawa…and there was that awful thing with bliss…and the van…*shutsup* 🙂
best tour detour: MERCER!!! LOL
best setlist addition: mr self destruct
looking forward to: a different setlist…and my columbus birthday show
biggest disappointment: nothing special at cabazon and kroc almost acoustic christmas not being acoustic
best people met: the reno crew though i’m terrible at keeping in touch, amira and rolf, Siobahn(i tried, is that right?) and Vanessa, cassie and beth, candace and ryan.

wow

sometimes the ignorance of niagara falls astounds me. on the bus the other night to work the old man driver who i can’t stand anyway started commenting on the nun that was killed in buffalo and how the killer deserves to be hanged in public in front of city hall. this discussion continued between him and this security girl who i (seriously) think is a bit retarded. talking about how the death penalty doesn’t work because it’s not a punishment to have a needle stuck in your vain, that it’s not painful enough, how executions should all be public so they will act as a deterrent. now i’m sitting there getting more and more frustrated but i held my tongue because i was not in the mood to get in a fight with 2 obviously misinformed individuals. but it kept going on, and the girl started in on how thousands of cats and dogs are killed a few days after they were born just because no one wants them, and this was supposed to be some sort of argument in favor of the death penalty? i almost had to get off the bus i just couldn’t take it. i don’t care if you’re for or against the death penalty, i don’t even know where i really stand on the issue, but you really need to be informed or i just have no respect for your opinion.

everything is packed, can’t wait til this is over because i cant stand another day with my parents. haha. and the chicken machine has been sold and taken away and i’m 100$ richer. until tomorrow when i pay the movers. the guy was almost interested in the arcade cases but they were too far gone for him. as expected.

waiting for lei to come sometime soon (i’m assuming) to pick up some more of her stuff i found in the basement. nothing else to do tonight. expect some more posts tonight in varying levels of f-lock.

packed and mostly ready to go. i have way too much clothes so my closet is still completely full. but beyond that…working on the laptop until thursday so look for the laptop screenname if you want to IM me. i won’t have cable at the new place until monday but i may be able to steal wireless from someone near there…we’ll see

did i mention that i get to go to the sabres playoff game for free?! phils mom bought 4 tickets for his brother, and said i can go we just have to take the brother who is 12. NO PROBLEM! free tickets! haha here’s hoping his mom buys tickets for the 2nd and 3rd rounds too 🙂 don’t know what day the game is still but it’s most likely saturday so i’ll have to use my 8.01 hours of sick time haha.

now we need ottawa to beat the rangers tonight and for new jersey to beat montreal. then all in the playoff world will be good. i so don’t want to play NJ

elaaetesfa grr of course tool is playing near by on NOT my days off…and i just asked for the 7 days off i need in june so i SO can’t ask for anything else. i’m gonna have to see if someone will switch a tuesday with me for the toronto show on may 16th. where is the hummingbird theatre? i’m sure i can find someone at work to go with me. oh holy shit 58$! maybe not…esp if the playoffs go well…tool will be back around.

saul williams

when we heard that saul williams would be opening for nine inch nails last leg of the tour, we thought it was a totally strange choice. even after i was corrected in my belief that he was a hassidic jewish rapper who did reggae. and in retrospect…it was a really strange choice. spoken word/hip hop at a mainstream industrial metal concert?? but saul is really excellent at what he does. listening to his album makes me all happy. his spoken word tracks give me chills. so now, some excerpts from his album.

‘Cause we represent a truth, son, the changes by the hour. And, when you open to it, vulnerability is power.

But that square box don’t represent the sphere that we live in. The earth is not a flat screen. I ain’t trying to fit in. But this ain’t for the underground. This, here, is for the sun. A seed a stranger gave to me and planted on my tongue. And, when I look at you, I know I’m not the only one. As a great man once said, “There’s nothing more powerful than an idea whose time has come.”

“You have the right to remain silent.” You have the right to remain silent. You have the right to remain silent. And maybe you should have before your bullshit manifested.

So where my aliens at? Girl, we’re all illegal. This system ain’t for us. It’s for rich people. And you ain’t rich, dawg, you just got money. But you can’t buy shit to not get hungry.

Please inform all interested parties that cash nor murder have been added to the list of elements. (stop). We are discontinuing our current line of braggadocio, in light of the current trend in “realness”. (stop).

I didn’t vote for this state of affairs. My emotional state’s got me prostrate, fearing my fears. In all reality I’m under prepared. ‘Cause I’m ready for war but not sure if I’m ready to care.

So here’s the plan. The ides of march are always at hand. And when the power hungry strike, they strike the poorest of man. And if you dare put up a fight, they’ll come and fight for your land. And they’ll call it liberation or salvation. A call to the youth! Your freedom ain’t so free, it’s just loose. but the power of your voice could redirect every truth. Shift and shape the world you want and keep your fears in a noose. Let them dangle from a banner star spangled. I’m willing and able. To lift my dreams up out of their cradle. Nurse and nurture my ideals ’til they’re much more than a fable. I can be all I can be and do much more than I’m paid to. And I won’t be a slave to what authorities say do. My desire is to live within a nation on fire, where creative passions burn and raise the stakes ever higher. Where no person is addicted top some twisted supplier who promotes the sort of freedom sold to the highest buyer. We demand a truth naturally at one with the land, not a plant that photosynthesizes bombs on demand, or a search for any weapons we let fall from our hands. I got beats and a plan. I’m gonna do what I can. And what you do is question everything they say do, every goal ideal or value they keep pushing on you. If they ask you to believe it question whether it’s true. If they ask you to achieve, is it for them or for you. You’re the one they’re asking to go carry a gun. Warfare ain’t humanitarian. You’re scaring me, son. Why not fight to feed the homeless, jobless, fight inflation?! Why not fight for our own healthcare and our education?! And instead, invest in that erasable lead, ’cause their twisted propaganda can’t erase all the dead. And the pile of corpses pyramid on top of our heads. Or nevermind, said the shotgun to the head.

yep.

and it appears my entries may not be showing up on your friends pages…i was having this problem with adr2’s entries – i thought she hadn’t posted since before cinci, but it turns out she was, they just weren’t showing up on my fpage. now vanessa said that neither one of ours is showing up on her page, tho when i go to everyone else’s fpages i’m there…don’t know what the problem is, and the related posts on the support page mention backdating etc and i’ve never backdated anything…so i don’t get it.

the person that ruined my day because i was going to go out shooting with sean and the canadians (i forget all their names haha), but had to stay home to wait for said person to come get the chicken machine decided they didn’t want it anymore. but good news, someone offered me 100$ for it!!!! so hopefully that one pans out and i get to make more than 15$ out of this.

ha, ridiculous dream about trent. firstly i guess adr2 and i had finally gotten to a meet and greet, but it was set up like meet and greets at stores, with the celeb behind a table and everyone waiting in line to go up to the table. adr2 went first, and there was no freaking out or anything. then i think there were a few people between us because it was a few minutes before i went, and she was waiting on the other side with some people we apparently knew. i got up there, and i think trent said something about how he always liked my outfits and how we should go shopping together. and he said it totally fem and i was like, wtf. so i go over to adr2 and i’m like wow trent is SO gay. hahaha. then it morphed into canal fest time, and i was at home and apparently i had a son who was like 4. and trent called and my son answered it. then told me this guy trent called and wanted to talk to me and come over. cuz he apparently was interested in me. then it totally changed to going to canal fest with the cast of roseanne. roseanne kept trying to stab me with a fork.
