the moose and goose is NOT arizonas!!!!!!!!!!!!!! but today should have been taken as an omen not to go anyway. the directions i pulled off the site were completely wrong for if you were coming from the falls. so i over shot it by 10 minutes, had to turn around and go back towards st catherines. then i just guessed at where i was supposed to go, based on the fact that the place is in thorold. and i did eventually get to the exit i needed, but then was lost again trying to find the place. since i thought it was arizonas i was really confused to be in “downtown” (term used VERY loosely) thorold, when arizonas was in the middle of no where. anyway…i eventually found it. i got 3 tix, for me, lei and kate. i couldn’t remember if adr1 said she wanted a ticket or not, and adr2 said she’d get one day of if she didn’t have to work. adr1 – you can call them, i have the number, and get one over the phone if you want to go and are scared about it selling out.

anyway…so yeah. it’s not arizona’s, it’s a bar. and i’m not sure if the show will be inside or outside. should be cool tho.

then on the way home, i had to guess how to get home too – just drove in the direction i thought the falls were in. and i did eventually get to the falls, but then detoured to the outlets because i thought they might have a good shoe store with roos in my size. they didn’t. but i bought 2 shirts at urban behaviour, and a pair of maroon/purple velvet pants from club monaco that were originally 100$ but reduced to 20. sweet! i don’t know what i’ll wear with them but whatever.

watching the natural sometime tonight. it’s been ages since i’ve seen it, and i was reminded there is a scene shot at the terminal so i gotta watch it haha. still haven’t watched the 3 movies phill loaned me. oh well. and i still haven’t finish cleaning…stupid dad making me stay at their house yesterday to change my oil. ruined all my plans.

and oh yeah. i have a spur of the moment hair appt tomorrow to get it colored before the nin party in toronto. still don’t know what i’m going to do with it, but…it’s gonna be a different color.

randomly, tony asked to work my shift on friday and give me the night off. ok, whatever.

timing couldn’t be any more perfect. nin “with teeth” listening party in toronto on friday!!! i guess i know what i’m doing now haha.

and in related news. i forgot about dvd regions, so the “the hand that feeds” dvd single from UK that i bought won’t play in my dvd player…oh well.

1 more week 1 more week 1 more week. i will not listen to “with teeth” i will not listen to “with teeth”…

so i did something today i vowed i would never do. i bought a bratz doll. actually, 2 of them. yes, for myself. one was a little version, it was a rock star, it had cool hair. it’s gonna hang from my rearview mirror (which is why i need a noose). the other was a full size one, from the “welcome to fabulous bratz” line. it just screamed BUY ME. it has black and red hair and a really fabulous outfit and just looks so cool. no idea what i’m going to do with it, since it is so socially frowned upon to be playing with dolls at 24. they had a whole other way cool line, london punk bratz…mohawks and blue hair and awesome clothes. no wonder barbie sales are falling. *istillloveyoubarbie*

there is a spider walking around the ceiling in big circles. i wish the cat could reach it and eat it. gah. don’t drop down on me stupid spider.

i get a filling tomorrow morning, then possibly meeting up with kim from high school, still waiting to hear from adr1 on that. and…beyond that, no clue. work was asking for people interested in extra days off the next week and a half, so i asked for sunday and next saturday off…we’ll see if they give it to me (last time they did…)

amy has a new boyfriend and he has good taste in music so i give him a thumbs up haha. could be a serial killer for all i know, but he likes NIN so he’s good haha.

girly girly girly girly

hahahaha

sorry, i couldn’t resist.

and yeah. he found this site. and he wasn’t gonna even tell me. good thing he did though.

so i said i was going to write something witty and funny about this afternoon but i’m far too distracted for 2 reasons to be creative. one of them being that the anton corbijn book finally arrived. and holy cow. cuz i’ve never said it before, i want to be anton corbijn. got through all the joshua tree stuff, and got to the 1990s and all the super hotness and it was almost impossible to keep turning the page. so jealous. awesome awesome book, and it came with a poster, which i didn’t know about. i’m wondering if it was with all the books or just from where you ordered it. didn’t quite finish, i got to the inbetween pop and all that you can’t leave behind time period and realized i need to change and go to work.

so there you go.

maybe i’ll try to be witty later.

how very disappointing. the lofts were awesome. smallish, and i know we have alot of crap, but it’s exactly that – crap, and we could have gotten rid of alot and have been fine. but it turns out, it’s pretty much a section 8/HUD building, which means I make way too much money. WTF THERE ARE REPUBLICANS IN OFFICE AND THEY HATE POOR PEOPLE BUT THEY’RE GOING TO GIVE THEM THESE INCREDIBLE APARTMENTS? and it completely doesn’t make sense to me. the rent is not what i would consider to be cheap, especially if i was poor. their minimum income requirement is 19k and their max is 24k…i’m sorry but if i was making 24k i for sure would not want a 650$ apartment that includes only water – when gas and electric bills have been running us around 200$ each a month…i just don’t understand how that little income is supposed to pay for these apartments (because then you have to pay for parking aside from the unincluded utilities). they said they were looking for urban professionals…to me, that meant people like me, and it didn’t mean welfare cases. and it wasn’t just us who left after they mentioned the income cut off, there were a bunch of us who were like ok then, might as well leave, and we all complained as we left and in the parking lot. just really disappointing and frustrating because i was ready to sign on the dotted line, and they should have 1. mentioned the income requirements on the site and 2. taken a look at my application where it said my income and tossed me in the trash can right away…instead of choosing me first (and i would have had first choice of all the units too…) in the lottery.

so yeah. don’t know what we are going to do now. the lady said cuz i was first they’d probably be calling this week to come back in and do paper work but since i said i make way too much money, maybe she’ll just forget it. she said i could come in and see what other properties they own, but it doesn’t really matter.

i don’t understand how low-middle income people like me are supposed to live…because i certainly can’t afford the high end loft apartments like in the ellicot building or elk terminal. i’m sorry but i really don’t want my entire income to go to rent. it was exciting because these lofts were AFFORDABLE, and i THOUGHT for people like me…like they said they wanted, young urban professionals…so yeah. just completely disappointed.

anyone interested in viewing my reno pics, or the pictures from the 2 trips to cargill, concrete, great northern, and marine star – and the fun pics we took of eachother taking pics of eachother – they are in my yahoo photo account:

had a rather fun night DEALING (first time in 4 weeks) bacc in high limit. my players weren’t the normal regulars, only a few semi regulars, who were actually very pleasant for once, and tipped me regularly. by the end it was filled with lots of broken english innuendos and one female proclaiming that the win on a certain hand was “better than fuck”. LOL it was hysterical.

and once again i was asked if i was half asian. i really need to start lying about that. i think it would make me much more interesting.

spent the day inhaling alot of unhealthy dust at the terminal, cleaning up the gallery space for june. it was pretty productive, we just have to do floor and debris clean up now more or less, which we can do on the 30th. after, lei and i stopped at great northern to taunt the geese LOL, and then we were going to go past the loft building but got distracted by cargill. so we drove down to cargill and there was another car there…and as we got closer…it looked familiar. and it turns out adr2 was there LOL. small world.

so…as everyone knows now, a year and a half ago lei and i went to chicago and found the terminal’s giant concourse clock. which was amazingly exciting. and as everyone knows, we have the clock back now…which unfortunately was not all that exciting. i expected it to be way better than it actually was, to finally have the clock back, and see our work in tracking it down pay off. well all that changed today when we walked in and saw them setting it up in it’s original spot on the concourse. it was so awesome. as mike said, he almost cried. lei and i both jumped when we saw it. it is so so so so so totally cool, and i’m so happy we have it back. the unveiling is going to be great

even tho i don’t really want to, i’m having my own “room” at the terminal for the art show. it’s hardly a room, but the inside of a safe. haha. if i couldn’t have the safe i wasn’t going to do it at all. but now i have to figure out what i’m doing for it…

sin city = the most stunningly beautiful movie i have ever seen. holy cow. it is just visually amazing. and again, i love bruce willis and i don’t know why. but wow. if i made a movie i’d want it to look like that….incredible. it was very interesting, but seemed to run a bit long by the end. and the fact that josh hartnett opening credits billing but was in a whole 2 scenes, i don’t quite understand that. and i don’t understand what his scenes were about but whatever haha. still. so beautiful. i think pauly shore was in it but he wasnt in the credits so i gotta go find out…

and the date as a whole…ha i no longer feel able to discuss it on this page. the boy got a computer. but yeah. i feel all girly. so we’ll leave it at that.

somewhere along the line, i seemed to have gotten over my fear of walking on metal grating…

ok I really love the tea party. and i’m really glad that their Shea’s show years ago was so good and that i didn’t give up on them after the horrible arizona’s shows. they have some of the best lyrics ever. wow. yeah. they’re amazing. do i only know about them because i am a border baby? like…does the rest of the US even know who they are? *totally diggin transmission at the moment*

I stumbled through the enigma of the reason
And celebrated the hurt
And then I found through an act of desperation
A subtle rip in the heart
I was seduced by the fear of devastation
And then it tore me apart

i need to think of something to do with my luxuria domain…i need to think of something to do with any of the other domains i bought and never used. haha.

they need a better photographer though…i’d love to do a shoot with them (but what does that mean really, when i’d love to do a shoot with ANY band at this point ha ha).

they’re playing at moose and goose in thorold on may 7th…never heard of moose and goose, but my worst suspicions were true – it’s arizonas. but i’m gonna give it a shot again and hope for the best. since it’s the art show weekend, i/we can’t go up too early to be in line so maybe the wait for the band won’t completely suck haha. whatever. totally going. it’s cheaper than the toronto shows earlier the same week…

“He’s a fine musician that boy” – david bowie on trent reznor hahahha

really really utterly fantastic day!

after not getting u2 vegas tickets, adr1 and i headed out to meet leighanne and adr2 at the shady nature preserve where i once met up with this complete stranger who convinced me to leave my car there and go off with him. lei had some time to drive around lost, and found a road that went all the way down to the opposite side of the river from cargill, so we headed down there first, then back passed the incompetent rail police and drove all the way up to the front of concrete central. we decided to do concrete first since every other time we just stay at cargill and run out of light. concrete was wonderful as before. i found a new place to add to my list of favourite urbex places ever, but it did not photograph very well. adr1 was my camera assistant, lei and adr2 went off wherever. 2 little boys showed up followed by their white trash looking parents, who said they’d bring them back tomorrow with spray paint. the kids thought we were filming a movie haha. later the father pretended to fall off the railroad bridge. a kid on a bike showed up too, wondering how we got the car all the way to the building. we wondered how he got his bike inside the building. he seemed sort of weird. and not cute like the kid on tuesday haha.

so after concrete we backtracked to cargill and wandered around the inside this time. then chilled on the veranda (where 2 other people showed up looking for their wallet). the next non party will be a bbq picnic on the veranda of cargill. it’s just a really awesome place to just sit. not sure why. so we hung out there for a while, and lei, totally uncharacteristically, wanted to be brave and try to do the great northern.

after taking enough silly pictures of eachother on the veranda the 4 of us headed out to great northern. parked between some semis and walked right up to the rumored entry way. again, being brave, lei totally tackled the fence, followed by adr2. and walked right into 2 very very very angry geese. LOL commence geese hissing, lei freezing then running to the corner of the fence and building to hyperventilate while adr2 very speedily went back around the fence away from the geese. continued hissing and honking from the geese, and the 4 of us completely being way too loud laughing/freaking out. i must say the geese are a very good security system because we almost gave up. but fear not, we continued on our quest. as advertised it’s definitely a fully intact elevator. went to the top of one of the marine stacks since we didn’t see the spoken of entrance to the actual building. we tried to be stealth but it was tough haha. came back down, started to head out when i noticed the way in. the only problem is it’s way above our heads, and then the opening is hardly big enough for me to go through. but holycrap!!!! another day i will take the drop inside and figure out some way to get back out again because boy is it a dream exploration. can’t do it alone though because i need someone to boost me up the ledge.

and i really don’t care if cops find this. come arrest me! haha.

but yeah. wow. incredible place. but then we had to face off with the geese again. almost got attacked, but managed to escape hahah. damn geese. and from there, with 2 more hours of daylight left, it was off to the marine star. we thought maybe, with our good luck today, there would be free admission and a stairway to the deck haha. unfortunately there wasn’t, but that’s ok. and continuing to press our luck, we went off to the psych center, but forgot the bolt cutters haha *joking*.

faaaaaaaaaaabulous day. had to call in again. i’m pushing it now haha. i think i get a point for today cuz it’s a saturday, but i still get paid. i can’t use anymore sick time though incase i need it for concerts in the future hehe.

off to edit some pics. yay. 6 rolls of film to develop and i mostly filled up my 512 card. took some video of great northern but it needs to be edited (it’s sideways…)

this is my 1000th entry. i should make it wonderful, but it’s only wonderful to me, lei and kate (and maybe adr ha)

u2falltour
September 12: Toronto, Air Canada Centre
September 14: Toronto, Air Canada Centre
December 9: Buffalo, HSBC Arena
December 10: Cleveland, Gund Arena

with a few other possibilities, like detroit or chicago or dc…all the onsale dates just better not be the same…

and nin has an “extensive north american tour” planned…better not be date conflicts, that’s all i know. i honestly won’t know what to do hahah
