marathon

wow the sabres game was a marathon. 2 overtimes. i wish i could say i got my money’s worth out of the game but…since i didn’t pay for the ticket it doesn’t quite seem fair LOL. but yeah. defintely worth it for sure. we took phil’s bro and his friend to dave and busters before the game. for those who don’t know it, it’s a restaurant with a huge arcade and bowling alley and other nonsense. like the boston pizza on clifton hill in the falls canada. ate and headed down to the arena. last row 300 level, but wtf who cares. you can see the whole ice. and later it turns out the scratched players were sitting in a box behind us. andrew peters kept leaning over to talk to people and everyone started throwing the shirts we got when we walked in up to him to sign. taylor pyatt (hott) was up there too and peeked out a few times. so hott.

anyway. the game was great. we looked like we had it made, until tony lydman became this year’s zhitnik and took 3 penalties and cost us the lead, almost cost us a goal in OT, but we pulled it out in the 2nd OT. it was fabulous! 58 shots, we should have won the thing 15-1 as phil predicted haha. but no matter, a win is a win. we get to go to work and rub it into pit greg tomorrow, as he loves the flyers. we’re gonna bring him a broom when we sweep later this week 🙂 it was so stressful and tiring by the time the 2nd OT came around…

sometimes i wonder if other people catch the humor and appropriateness of some of the songs that the arena organ guy plays…because it’s quite funny sometimes but i have a feeling that most people miss it…

took a picture with sabretooth when we got in and it was fabulous but i forgot to hit save so i lost it..next time. and still no sabretooth stuffed animals. boo. there is a fun bus stop billboard with a photo of sabretooth as if he’s waiting for the bus hahaha. i want it.

fun fun fun. i still hadn’t heard from channel 2 so i emailed every night time, weekend days, sports casters and daybreak people about seeing the cup on monday morning. i actually got a reply from stu boyer but he didn’t know what was going on with it. gave me a few numbers to call, of people who will be in on monday but that may be too late for me. i think i might just go down monday morning and be like yeah, i’m here to see the cup. and if they have a list of people and i’m not on it, i’ll give them my phone and play the message for them from jodi johnston because i haven’t deleted it yet hahaha. I WANNA SEE THE CUP DAMNIT!

lord stanley

a few weeks ago channel 2 was asking for suggestions on where to display the stanley cup when it is in town on Monday. i had written in the suggestion of central terminal of course. well they called me today and offered me the chance to go down to channel 2 on monday at 6am to see the cup and get my picture taken with it and stuff hahaha. so i gotta call them back and say yes of course. i’ll just go down there after work. but haha how weird

a fridge full of condiments and no food….

except that i don’t have the condiments either. just 2 packs of pop. and if it’s even possible, i get less of a cell phone signal here, than i did at the old place.

anyway….mostly everything is moved to the new place, some random things still at the old place, plus all the stuff in the fridge. i guess i’ll go get that tomorrow unless i feel bored later…not likely though.

(aside: i love the song that plays when “jack” and tyler starts fight club…like…the official start, when they go into lous and down to the basement. what song is that?)

things are pretty much set up, some things to be arranged later when other things get out of the way…getting used to the weird sounds and having someone living above me again. but as i understand my new neighbor works at/owns country cafe and gets up to go there for the breakfast shift…so she’s getting up as i’m coming home… and seems to have gone to bed, or at least stopped walking around before 10.

(god tyler durden is SO hot)

i don’t have too much else to say. yep.

wow

sometimes the ignorance of niagara falls astounds me. on the bus the other night to work the old man driver who i can’t stand anyway started commenting on the nun that was killed in buffalo and how the killer deserves to be hanged in public in front of city hall. this discussion continued between him and this security girl who i (seriously) think is a bit retarded. talking about how the death penalty doesn’t work because it’s not a punishment to have a needle stuck in your vain, that it’s not painful enough, how executions should all be public so they will act as a deterrent. now i’m sitting there getting more and more frustrated but i held my tongue because i was not in the mood to get in a fight with 2 obviously misinformed individuals. but it kept going on, and the girl started in on how thousands of cats and dogs are killed a few days after they were born just because no one wants them, and this was supposed to be some sort of argument in favor of the death penalty? i almost had to get off the bus i just couldn’t take it. i don’t care if you’re for or against the death penalty, i don’t even know where i really stand on the issue, but you really need to be informed or i just have no respect for your opinion.

everything is packed, can’t wait til this is over because i cant stand another day with my parents. haha. and the chicken machine has been sold and taken away and i’m 100$ richer. until tomorrow when i pay the movers. the guy was almost interested in the arcade cases but they were too far gone for him. as expected.

waiting for lei to come sometime soon (i’m assuming) to pick up some more of her stuff i found in the basement. nothing else to do tonight. expect some more posts tonight in varying levels of f-lock.

packed and mostly ready to go. i have way too much clothes so my closet is still completely full. but beyond that…working on the laptop until thursday so look for the laptop screenname if you want to IM me. i won’t have cable at the new place until monday but i may be able to steal wireless from someone near there…we’ll see

did i mention that i get to go to the sabres playoff game for free?! phils mom bought 4 tickets for his brother, and said i can go we just have to take the brother who is 12. NO PROBLEM! free tickets! haha here’s hoping his mom buys tickets for the 2nd and 3rd rounds too 🙂 don’t know what day the game is still but it’s most likely saturday so i’ll have to use my 8.01 hours of sick time haha.

now we need ottawa to beat the rangers tonight and for new jersey to beat montreal. then all in the playoff world will be good. i so don’t want to play NJ

elaaetesfa grr of course tool is playing near by on NOT my days off…and i just asked for the 7 days off i need in june so i SO can’t ask for anything else. i’m gonna have to see if someone will switch a tuesday with me for the toronto show on may 16th. where is the hummingbird theatre? i’m sure i can find someone at work to go with me. oh holy shit 58$! maybe not…esp if the playoffs go well…tool will be back around.

Transcript of what Harry Taylor had to say:

Q You never stop talking about freedom, and I appreciate that. But while I listen to you talk about freedom, I see you assert your right to tap my telephone, to arrest me and hold me without charges, to try to preclude me from breathing clean air and drinking clean water and eating safe food. If I were a woman, you’d like to restrict my opportunity to make a choice and decision about whether I can abort a pregnancy on my own behalf. You are —

THE PRESIDENT: I’m not your favorite guy. Go ahead. (Laughter and applause.) Go on, what’s your question?

Q Okay, I don’t have a question. What I wanted to say to you is that I — in my lifetime, I have never felt more ashamed of, nor more frightened by my leadership in Washington, including the presidency, by the Senate, and —

AUDIENCE MEMBERS: Booo!

THE PRESIDENT: No, wait a sec — let him speak.

Q And I would hope — I feel like despite your rhetoric, that compassion and common sense have been left far behind during your administration, and I would hope from time to time that you have the humility and the grace to be ashamed of yourself inside yourself. And I also want to say I really appreciate the courtesy of allowing me to speak what I’m saying to you right now. That is part of what this country is about.

THE PRESIDENT: It is, yes. (Applause.)

Q And I know that this doesn’t come welcome to most of the people in this room, but I do appreciate that.

THE PRESIDENT: Appreciate —

Q I don’t have a question, but I just wanted to make that comment to you.

more randomness while watching tv and not packing

The chicken machine is on craigs list

i finally got around to hearing some of the newest 30 seconds to mars cd and wow it sounds exactly like the first one. not necessarily bad, but usually bands evolve…they just played in buffalo but i heard about it oh…3 days or so before the show.

i dreamed about manatees….weird. weirder that i watched the muhammed south park and there were manatees in it…

a bushism i hadn’t read before: “god loves you and i love you and you can count on both of us as a powerful message that people who wonder about their future can hear.” WHAT THE FUCK DOES THAT SAY?! GAH! and… “see, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda.” omg. just. omg.

from Mind of Mencia
regarding what bumper stickers really mean:
carlos: “and my favorite sticker – i support bush. what does that one mean?”
peter boyle: “i can’t get this fucking sticker off my car!”

ROFL

the daily show is one of the best things on tv ever.

and wow, michael brown, ex FEMA head, was on the colbert report. that was the most brilliant thing i’ve seen in a long time. i don’t totally hate him now, cuz he can laugh at himself. pretty gutsy of him to do it. he handled colbert well too.

i love the air force commercial that insinuates that you can become an astronaut in the USAF. because there are SOOOO many astronaut positions to fill i’m sure YOU will be the one most qualified to fill it. gah.

so since i wasted the entire day, i packed a few quick boxes to make it seem like i did something to my mom. while unloading the bookcases i found tons of old photos. i found a picture of me and psycho at the prom. and i didn’t really feel anything. sorta sad. not sick. not angry. it was just a totally different time and i don’t know who that person was. i don’t even know the person i was last year. sometimes i don’t even know why we take pictures, when they just sit in albums on a shelf collecting dust, no one looking at them… so anyway…a few probably embarrassing in some way pictures from late high school…

god… high school ended 8 years ago…

it throws me off that dell is using the same song in their commercial that the buffalo sabres used this season. and speaking of sabres, playoff tickets went on sale today, but with no dates. gah. can’t buy them if i don’t know what day they’re on. this girl at work says the bar gillys has been doing big package sabres things, where you take a bus from the bar to the game, get a keg and all this stuff, and that they’re doing it for the playoffs too. so i may end up doing that. i definitely have to go to at least one playoff game tho. boo on mastercard canada for not allowing americans to try to win stanley cup tickets…

kitty doesn’t hate me as much anymore.
