my cell phone contract with cingular/at&t is up in october and i’ve been waiting all year for it. i don’t want to sign a new contract again, but i am considering switching carriers.
so a question (US only need apply):
what carrier do you have
what do you get for your monthly bill
any phone recommendations
my intial research is looking at verizon and the lg chocolate. although i’m a bit pissed that you have to be 65+ to get verizon’s cheapest plan (wtf, why do seniors get everything?! :P), they offer some better options than cingular and maybe i’ll get more than a bar and a half signal at my house.
the iphone is out of the question so don’t bother. despite my hatred of all things apple, i did see an iphone in use on tuesday and i admit, it’s pretty slick. but not only am i not willing to spend that much money on a phone, i guarantee i’d break the touch screen almost immediately. definitely within a week. so no thanks.

what a freaking draining night. nothing i really feel comforting talking about – but it’s not personal in the slightest bit. it’s organizational. it didn’t make me want to quit, so that’s a good thing. it was accompanied by a surprise dinner with an out of towner that was very interesting as well. i actually ate something from the ocean (shrimp) hahah. something interesting – the guest of honor didn’t know what sex offenders were. and i don’t know if that’s a product of being muslim, or a product of being raised in the UK, or what but it was sort of shocking.
and i get to go on a yacht on saturday afternoon. i have nothing to wear on a yacht. mike said i have to go buy a new preppy outfit for the occasion hahahahah. i’m not sure i can force myself to walk into abercrombie or hollister. maybe target has something boat worthy. jk i’m sure i’ll find something buried in my closet.

i feel so crappy. i don’t know what it is. i didn’t eat all that much during the day yesterday – grabbed a bagel before going to the terminal around 6. i’ve survived on less before. once i got home around 8 i had a headache, no surprise. but then i ate more, a sandwich, ice cream, zuccini bread. woke up at 6am feeling super thirsty and barfy. got some water, half hour later i had to get up again and eat. i was all shaky inside, sat on the floor and ate some cereal then back to bed. feel slightly better now, had some turkey and crackers but i still feel so not right. and it’s not even nerves for what is going to go down tonight. i don’t get it.

the aud was deemed unsalvageable (what a joke!) and is being prepped for demolition. hazmat to start “soon” with the demo taking 14 months. why don’t they ever implode things around here. i mean, what a perfect place to implode. 14 months…bah. the city will be complete idiots not to sell the seats out first. i could give them a list of 50 ppl off the top of my head who will go buy whole rows of seats. talk about revenue.

aside from recently watching marathons of americas next top model on mtv, i havent watched mtv in years. i don’t really know the point at which i outgrew the channel, but there is absolutely nothing on it that interests me anymore. i have not watched the VMA awards in years either, since i stopped liking anyone relevant in the pop music world. but i had to find a vid online of britney spears opening performance. mainly because i read perezhilton.com and he left an oh so nice message to her on his site hahahaha. i had to see it.
wow did it suck. never a britney fan, i am not afraid to give praise where praise is due. like christina aguilera. she’s fantastic. don’t like her music for the most part but she’s fucking talented. britney. she’s had some good moments i guess, but this was not one of them. we all know she, like most pop stars who dance (ahem jackson family) lip sync. ok no big deal. but she could have at least learned the words to her song to make it slightly convincing. she also didn’t dance. just walked around, and sometimes shook boobs and pelvic thrusted. she got helped around stage by backup dancers. all in all it reminded me of michael jackson at his (recent) worst. she even learned that, hold the mic to your mouth to cover up how bad you’re lip syncing thing, that MJ was always so good at. i could give a shit if she’s popular ever again, but i would hope that SHE gave a shit about it. but from the looks of the “performance”, she doesn’t. oh well. so sad. maybe all the little girls out there who want to be teen pop stars will learn a lesson – don’t marry a loser backup dancer and pop out 2 kids in the prime years of your career. pull a madonna and don’t start having kids til you’re 40.
amusing from an article on the VMAs: “MTV brought the show to Las Vegas for the first time, hoping to reverse a sharp slide in viewership for its awards bash.” maybe more people would watch if the show didn’t completely suck, and the music industry was pumping out artists that were at all good. or if mtv would let trent show a photo of george bush on stage during “the hand that feeds”. hahaha
i’m so hoping i can sleep. pleeaaase let me get a good nights sleep. i have stuff to do tomorrow and i’d like to go find some docs that are suitable for work down on elmwood.

adelphia sucked, and the rigas family were criminals but i HATE time warner. taking a month to send me the password to my online bill pay (which only works 30% of the time anyway…it’s worse than myspace), causing me to be late in paying, then sending me 2 overdue notices when i actually DID pay, then doing server upgrades last night that could last “between 20 min and a few hours”, but my internet still not working until 9pm tonight after spending 45 min on the phone with them…they tell me it’s not them, its my router. well you know what, it was working just fine til you turned off the internets around midnight last night when i was talking to cassie on IM. grr. so i’m back up, without the router. the guy said to reset it but i’m not trying until i do all the stuff i need to do now that my life is turned back on.
but in the meantime i was productive and made another purse, which adr2 liked so i gave it to her. it was easy and went fast, must make another. i still have like 4 yards of spider web mesh i bought last year to use lol. dunno what i was thinking. need more black and skeletons tho.
so adr2 came over to revive our “must do something every week” thing. went to the corn maze. i forced her to do the velcro obstacle course even tho she didn’t want to and she loved it 😛 told you so. now she wants to go back just to do the velcro thing. we came up with another thing to do for some future week. we are going to start a new tradition and take halloween portraits every year at walmart, or sears or wherever. in costume. hey, we’re paying for them, they’ve gotta take whatever pic we want. we tried to think of costumes and came up with, for the first year, ghosts. just white sheets with holes cut in them ROFL it’s gonna be so great. anyone else who happens to be in town is welcome to be in the halloween family portrait. can’t wait!
i’m not gonna explain the previous post. it’s the truth. no big revelation there. and i stick by it. but i will say, the doctor dropped my dosage of meds, so sun and mon were very very bad days. i am feeling better now tho. 2 more weeks at 25mg, then alternate days, then nothing. we’ll see how this goes.
