looking up withdrawal symptoms of elavil, and found out one of the side effects of taking the meds is breast enlargement. damnit why couldn’t i have gotten that side effect? lol
withdrawal is in full effect, and is just how i remembered it being from 3 years ago.
we’ll see how sleep is tonight. i think it should be fine for a few more days but we’ll see. i’m not shaking yet, so that’s good.
in other news, russell and i had a moment of sheer panic at the terminal today. we were in the concourse when we heard loud “things collapsing” noises coming from the restaurant. we just looked at each other – as there was an architecture class in the building with our architecture firm – and bolted to the restaurant. fearing the worst, we found it was just some of the wooden shit left over from ghost train that fell over. our architect looked panicked too haha. it really really sounded horrible, and exactly like what it would have sounded like if it had been the ceiling as we feared. *phew*
2 more deer just ran by my window. they’re doing it about every day now. where do deer sleep? you never go walking through the woods and stumble upon some sleeping deer. they’re always just there running around, running into cars, etc. i think it’s sort of weird…
oh god, kitty just dumped a box of styrofome nuggets…
mood update: so i’ve been off the zoloft for about a month now. i feel about the same. definitely no worse. more intolerant and impatient if that is possible. i don’t think i went through any withdrawal from it, at least that i noticed.
now is a different story though. it seems i’m going to be forced to stop the elavil as well. because i’m almost out of it, i have no more refills, the doctor will not refill it over the phone unless i make an appointment, and i can’t make an appointment because she has about 3 office hours a week, and when i call no one is ever there. so i’ve dropped down to 50mg to conserve what i have left, in the hope that i can get a hold of her (tho even if/when i do it’s typically over a month til i can get in there). i’ll have to drop to 25mg by the weekend probably. the last time i tried to go off of it, 3 years ago, it didn’t go so well. even tho i weened myself off as i was supposed to, i felt like physical shit all the time (tho oddly no increase in headaches, which is why i take the damn meds to begin with), and i completely stopped sleeping. maybe my mom can call and call and call and get through to get me an appointment…cuz once i run out, forget it, i’m not going to even bother going in to get refills. i hate going to that office anyway because her receptionist (who i think is her mother or in-law) is a complete rude bitch and i dread having to deal with her.
inspired by s photo posting, i think i’m gonna see if my dad can dig up some old polaroid stuff lying around the basement. i know he has at least 4 cams, but i don’t know if they’ll take any film that is available anymore. i know we looked at them a few years ago and he thought most wouldn’t be usable.
and thank you chris bryan mccabe 🙂
i am now 100% vested in my 401k account. does that make me an adult now?
i got tickets for me and kate to see jon davis solo and acoustic at turning stone on nov 10th. now i just need the day off. it’ll be an interesting show, i didn’t feel like i could really pass it up.
tonight at work i watched baseball. of course, i wasn’t on a table that could see the tv when the sabres kicked washingtons ass (seriously if this keeps up spacek is gonna have a 50 goal season LOL i take back all the bad things i said about him last year), but i was moved after that game, to directly in front of the tv, and so i had to watch baseball. dear god baseball is so boring. you wait and wait and wait and nothing ever happens. i was praying for it to end quickly, but no, 11 innings…fantastic. the top of the 11th was the only interesting part of the entire 3 and a half hours that i got to see.
i desperately need to clean my house tomorrow
dreams:
apparently i was in thailand, but it was also bangladesh. i was in some public square in the harbor/port area walking around. one of the locals came up to me and started talking about all the environmental damage because of all the chemical factories that have moved from the US to their area. he whipped out a map and was showing me how these factories in india release all this pollution into a river that then flows to bangladesh and then poisons their land and harbor. he was saying these obsenely large numbers of pounds of toxins that flow into their harbor. then there was a concert going on in a park behind us so i went over to it to meet whoever it was i was with. it was some band that was super popular because it had gotten banned in the country (though how the band was there if they were band i don’t know). i was like, they were banned? they’re so wussy!
then something about a band playing that was supposedly poison, but totally wasn’t.
then something about adr2 and i driving in her van somewhere, and some new song with trent singing was on the radio but i didn’t know what it was. then i realized it was trent covering inxs’s “the gift” and it was pretty cool. i still couldn’t figure out how i didn’t know about the song tho. then we were in some city going to a show and we passed a venue where inxs was playing and i wanted to go until i remembered that i didn’t like the person they picked to become singer from the rockstar:inxs tv show. so we kept going to the venue we were supposed to be at, which was through some kind of public market like Camden Market in London – lots of gothy stuff, very fun. the venue itself was a store so we were shopping in it before the show…hmm…maybe that’s where poison who wasn’t poison comes in. i forget now…
*edit* oh yeah something else…adr2 and i went to a haunted house and for some reason we had to be put in separate rooms, but we could still see eachother down this small hall. then i started floating and floated down the hall into the other room, to scare the ppl in there, cuz apparently i was supposed to look like a ghost. then floated back to the other room. i was floating because the air in the other room was helium, and once you inhaled all that helium your voice didn’t just get high but you started to float like a balloon too
phill and i are retarded. we made a big deal about how there was only one thursday home game this season. well it was tonight. and we sold the game hahahaha. and it’s 3-0 buffalo after 1. here’s the blowout we’ve been missing. arg. *edit* 5-0 after 2 *grumble* *3 power play goals and one short handed. god we are so stupid* *6-0 final*
and i got an email about a Maple Leafs open practice pre sale. you have to BUY tickets to a practice in toronto?!?!?!?!?!?!
PHYSICAL CD / DVD ROM
This costs a bit more than “regular” and contains a CD that has exactly the same track listing as it’s DIGITAL DOWNLOAD counterpart (see above). The package is a six-panel digipak to match Year Zero along with an insert. It also contains a DVD ROM (not a movie) that contains every track from Year Zero in multitrack format for you to do with what you please. Mac or PC.
We’ve included:
Pre-formatted for Apple GarageBand
Pre-formatted for Ableton Live (Mac or PC)
Demo version of Ableton Live (Mac or PC)
Generic WAVE files at 16 bit 44K that can be loaded into any audio editor
I can make this easy for you: if you just want to hear the tracks as cheaply as possible, get it digitally. The highest fidelity will likely be Amazon (through legal means).
If you want something that’s aesthetically cool and will enhance any collection, get the vinyl. Trust me, it looks great. The extra tracks are fairly minor embellishments to the whole (and surely someone will upload them instantly).
If you want higher quality tracks legally, a nice package AND a complete multitrack of the whole record, get the physical CD / DVD ROM.
**insert comment from NINSUX: “I thought he said all the multitracks were going to be posted online, now he wants us to PAY for them??”
Relax, friend. One second after this package goes to the manufacturing plant someone will kindly upload those missing multitracks and everything will be OK. If they don’t soon enough for your liking, just yell loudly out the window and I’ll do it myself.
As for the record itself, I’m very pleased with the way it turned out. Remix records can be disposable garbage (of which I myself have been guilty of to some extent) but this collection feels good to me. I reached out to heroes, friends and strangers. I encouraged those I approached to do anything and insert themselves as much as possible into the track. Some of the stuff that was done earlier led me to choosing other people to balance things out. The Pirate Robot Midget mix is a fan’s work – I thought it was great, it filled a need and I asked permission to use it here.
It’s always interesting for me to hear my work reinterpreted – I hope it is for you as well.
Upon the release of this, we will be launching the first portion of the new nin.com at
remix.nin.com
We have been working on this quite a while now and I think you’ll like it. It will begin as a home for listening to, sorting through, discussing and uploading remixes the community has made. Hopefully it will be as elegant, useful and fun to use as we envision.

aud demolition expected in 2009 after asbestos abatement. as per channel 7 news tonight. peace bridge expansion in 2009 too.
a huge deer just ran past my window. ha
i got an email from Live Nation to do a survey about u2…it’s asking me how much I’d want to pay to see u2 in various locations inside an a stadium…is this a hint of things to come? a rebirth of zoo or popmart? ha i can dream can’t i? anyway. the front section, ie the entire center stadium floor, has a price range between 160 and 300$ LOL. edges of floor, or possibly first level seats 100-160$. the other 2 seating sections between 30-60$. all have an option of “wouldn’t buy” hahah. after that it’s asking what u2 cds i own, and other merch i own, q’s about when i’d buy merch, before or after a show, online, from a street vendor etc. then my general feelings and activities regarding concerts. and now they gave me fun facts about u2 lol gee thanks. what a reward for completing the survey. thanks live nation, i love you!
so i was bored tonight, so i made a cat toy. kitty LOOOOVES it.
so if anyone with a cat wants one…i’m gonna be experimenting. i had to hand sew this one because after doing the arms, ears and eyes the machine decided it hated felt and it would not sew it at all! also the felt looks all pulled apart immediately after kitty got his claws into it. so we’ll see how long it lasts. regular fabric would last longer me thinks. oh, it’s stuffed with catnip also hahaha. hence the kitty loving it part.
my mom is not dying. she doesn’t have any kind of cancer in any of the locations they tested. clean bill of health. so that’s good.
i feel like every day there is some crazy shooting up a school, or friends at a party, or amish. seriously. i don’t read a lot of the news, mainly just headlines on yahoo but i’m not kidding, EVERYDAY there is something about a shooting. what is happening?!
so bono has an appearance in this new movie Across the Universe, which could possibly be the worst ever movie for me to watch. it’s a musical based on beatles music. please bono, don’t make me go see this movie. ha. cassie, maybe you know? how much is he actually in the movie? i’ll prob wait til the clip shows up on youtube haha
someone on interference finally found the discobus clip. i still hate that it’s in real media cuz it’ll disappear again. anyone know how to record .rm files? tube hunter ultra won’t do it. i love how bono laughs during the 2nd “lets go…” and dancing machine edge.
