dream

i dreamed about julie. it was not a significant dream…i was at work, she came to my table, apparently pai gow, and said hi. she looked good, same as i remember her, she said she was living in california and had a son, but was still on probation/house arrest/whatever for 2 more years. she started to play pai gow but was still standing (you have to sit down to play), and then was picking up extra cards as if it was rummy or uno, and i kept telling her she couldn’t do that.

see, not significant. but every time i dream about her something happens…

nintorrents is down…maybe it’s cuz i haven’t paid for it since i got the account? (hey you don’t send me an invoice, i’m not sending you a payment). but it seems there was alot of problems lately, they’re transfering vps accounts to a new server or something, not sure. seems i have a new IP but it’s not working either. and since i know nothing about the coding, mysql, server crap etc i don’t really know what i should be doing to potentially fix it cuz i don’t understand the directions.

went to see Choke with chris this afternoon. i enjoyed it more than i enjoyed the book. i had forgotten alot about the book. honestly all i remembered was he was a sex addict, and the anal beads that broke off, and that he worked in a colonial village. and his friend builds a rock wall. forgot about dr paige, and the jesus part. i haven’t read the book since the first time the day it came out so i can’t really say if the movie is a good interpretation of the book, but i thought it was pretty decent. alot of boobs, flashes of explicit sex (soft core maybe? not sure, since i’ve not seen any pornos). it has humorous moments. i may have to re-read it when i’ve finished with twilight and the other books on the pile.

mom called me while at the theatre waiting for chris, so then she wanted to know what i was seeing and what it was about. how do you explain that? ha she said she’s gonna look it up online. great.

fuck me there is a 134$ charge on my credit card from London England…wtf!!!!!!!!!!

oops, apparently that is the charge for the nin hamilton tickets…why all of a sudden does musictoday go through london england? because hamilton is apparently in great britain now? purchasing toronto tickets with musictoday didn’t get charged to a company in the UK…i’m honestly confused. i’m not panicking anymore but still confused.

i got crosby in eric’s fantasy hockey league haha. and pominville. i need good players because i have no idea how to work fantasy hockey. i was asked to be in a league at work but it cost 200$ WTF i understand there are leagues that cost money, and you win money at the end, but 200???? holly wanted to go in with someone, but still, not paying 100 either!

my wrists are bothering me really bad lately, especially the right one. like, almost calling the doctor bad. i don’t know what they’d do for me except surgery which i doubt i could afford. i’ll wait til it’s worse 🙂 woke up with a stiff neck, can’t move my head. work will be fun.

oh i dreamed eric came to visit and he brought me a bookshelf he made with extra wood from his garage work bench project.

and time warner screwed me, they sent me my cable bill on 9-27 only it was due 9-24. so i’m going to have a nice late charge. jerks. also the previous owners of my house paid the water bill late, so i also have a 14$ late charge on that, that’ll be added to my city taxes plus 10% if it doesn’t get paid. so my lawyer is getting the money for me thankfully. it’s 14$ but still, pay the fucking bill on time jerks.

lame. totally lame.

i’m starting new moon, and edward leaves, and 4 blank pages, and i start crying. it’s been far too long for me to react that way. and i keep reading and i keep crying. and i’m such a fucking idiot. that shit is supposed to go away with time. fuck.

ghost hunters @ bct

ghost hunters tonight…oh man so amusing, especially the set up. i guess they needed a reason to be there, when we didn’t exactly call them hahahaha. the building looks great, i definitely think it’ll generate some interest, who knows if it’s going to be helpful or not. tracy, james, and adam were great even if adam made his story up. loved the graffiti comment. the black widows were unnecessary for sure.

choke, the movie, opens tomorrow and is actually playing in buffalo. tho the book wasn’t my fav, i need to see the movie. i may actually have to go to the theatre!!! omg! who is coming with me?

the aud auction

aud seats auction, nov 15 and 16 at buffalo convention center. only 800 pairs being auctioned, 100 online after the event. total bull. they have an arena full of seats and they’re only offering 800. i knew i should have stolen some last year. no way are they going to be affordable. david – you were lucky yours were only 300. jealous. i want 2 seats damnit. i need them for my WOman cave hahah
When the farewell bash is held in November, people will trot out many memories of Memorial Auditorium.

Some will recall sitting in creaky Blue Section seats watching the Buffalo Braves or the Sabres or college basketball doubleheaders. Others will remember childhood jaunts to the Ice Capades or the circus. Still others will relive moments when Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra and other musical icons played to a packed Aud.

On the weekend of Nov. 15-16, the city will stage “Farewell, Old Friend,” a final tribute to the Aud.

The event will be held in the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center and will include an auction of old Blue Section seats and hockey dasher boards.

The two-day extravaganza also will include interactive games for youngsters, a sports memorabilia pavilion and chances to snare the autographs of some athletes who made their marks in the old Aud. Many sports collectors have been invited to display and sell Aud artifacts.

After a competitive bidding process, the city picked Showcase Sports Marketing of Amherst to coordinate the event. Mayor Byron W. Brown said the goal is to turn the auction into a “final salute” to a downtown venue that was home to hockey and basketball games, circuses, concerts, ice shows and scores of other events over the decades.

“It will be a weekend of activities for people of all ages, and it promises to be very exciting,” Brown said.

Admission to the event will be $5 for adults and $3 for students. Children 4 and younger will be admitted free. Joining the mayor at a Wednesday news conference on the steps of City Hall were former Sabres Darryl Shannon, Craig Muni and Derek Smith. They reminisced about important goals scored in the Aud, nail-biting playoff games and “loud and crazy” fans.

Smith remembered the building’s unique ambience, saying there’s something special about older sports arenas.

“There was so much charm to them,” he said.

People who can’t attend the auction will be able to bid on seats a week later in an online auction. About 100 sets of seats will be set aside for online buyers, while 700 sets will be auctioned in the Convention Center. There are anywhere from two to five seats in a set, so in total, about 1,800 seats will auctioned.

The minimum bid for a pair of seats will likely be $100, said Kerry Atkinson, chief operating officer for Showcase Sports.

A Web site will be launched soon that will provide additional information about the weekend events and the online sale of Aud memorabilia. Money raised from the auction will be used to help create a downtown memorial that will pay tribute to the Aud. Showcase Sports will receive 20 percent of net revenues from the event in return for performing all marketing and coordinating tasks.

Opened in 1940, the building has been empty for a dozen years. It is being torn down as part of the continuing development of the Erie Canal Harbor neighborhood.

i hate myself lol

so i’m reading the twilight series. stef bought and read them last week, offered them to me so i figured maybe i won’t be 10 years behind on this one haha. i am really enjoying it, and probably not for normal reasons. i find it really amusing, because i could have written it. in fact, the characters…i more or less have written. when i was writing in college as a way to procrastinate doing anything useful. especially “edward”…i pretty much already wrote him as “raine” in the last thing i ever wrote, except not a vampire…tho he was going to have mystical mind reading sort of skills and be related to voodoo queens of old, had i ever gotten that far. and bella is the classic clumsy normal girl everyone writes into their fan fictions online who grabs attention of the famous rock star who finds her fascinating. so i find it kind of funny. i’ll admit tho, i’m totally absorbed and i’m 300 pages in, in under 2 days. that’s saying alot, because i pretty much read for a half hour a night before bed.

i’m also reading one flew over the cuckoos next, which when i started, i realized i had no idea what it was about. and thinking about it, i never had any inkling of what it was about, i just knew it was a “classic” so i figured i should read it. it’s pretty great. crazy ppl in a mental hospital.

today was court for my cell phone use at a stop light ticket. i found out at work from another nt resident, their ticket was only $25. turns out, yes, improper cell phone use is a non moving violation, so with reduction to a city parking ticket, it’s only $25. i didn’t bother to argue my case for that little amount of money, i just wanted to go home and back to bed. moral of the story: if you’re going to get caught on the phone, get caught in NT, it’s cheap. cheaper than buying a bluetooth headset 🙂

BCT ON GHOSTHUNTERS TONIGHT 9 and 11!

and i have sabres tickets for sale if anyone is interested. they’re going fast tho.

radio

while moving in i’ve been listening to the radio, specifically 103.3, because the owners left me an under the cupboard radio. radio sucks. they play 3 songs and then a half hour of commercials, and this is why i don’t listen. the music wasn’t bad, but i was surprised…the majority of what i heard was old stuff…nirvana, pearl jam, korn…90s stuff. i think in the entire time i listened, i heard maybe 5 songs i didn’t recognize. i was just surprised there was so much “old stuff” on there, and that it wasn’t full of bands and songs i wouldn’t know cuz i’m out of the loop. i sorta wanted to hear new stuff, maybe i’d “discover” something i liked.

at the nj show last month, people from sirius were handing out free 3 day trials online, so i finally signed up. i’m not sure if it offers every channel you get if you pay for the service, but there is a decent amount…and i still don’t like it. of course, looking at the rock stations, there are about 4 i’d listen to regularly and eh. i’m not hearing anything 1. new 2. that i like…there is a 90s alternative station, and it plays everything i already know. the “octane” high powered rock station plays crap i don’t like, like nickelback, and apparently nothing new either. alt nation says they play new stuff, but again, nothing i like. and why have a channel dedicated to specific artists, there is bruce springsteen, ac/dc, grateful dead,…just listen to the cds!!! pandora seems more useful, since it adjusts to what you like…

but anyway, if anyone wants to try it, the url is sirius.com/3forfree. you can’t listen to howard in the trial.

and with tons of notice, the hamilton presale is tonight. trent sent out a survey through email which was sorta amusing…asks for fav nin song ever, tough choice, and fav live song. i picked “last” just so maybe he’ll put it in the setlist in november hahaha when you finish the survey you get to download 100000000 live at red rocks, but i can’t watch it cuz my comp is too slow. it’s more like a slide show with audio for me hahah

i swear i’ll take pics of the house soon.

urbex haiku

an article in artvoice about the election concludes with an appropriate analogy…that this election is the prom king and queen star football player and head cheerleader vs the skinny guy and the nerd (something like that), and implies that america will vote for the prom couple. the analogy sorta gives me hope, because our prom queen was brooke…who was not a cheerleader, who was not in the “popular” crowd, who was validictorian…oh who am i kidding…

BCT on ghosthunters NEXT WEDNESDAY! don’t forget. don’t let me forget and watch 90210 instead 🙂

my uncle who writes haiku sent some of my last photos from detroit with david to a friend grant hackett, who wrote haikus about them…

To keep my hands in idleness and decay :: the piano is wrecked

An old friend says :: your name will be left in the air

Stuffed with echoes :: some day it will rain through the roof

You can see untitled stars through the holes in their eyes

i promise to take some house pics soon.
