lets go buffalo!

buffalo forces game seven tomorrow at carolina. yeaaaay! i managed to weasel my way into watching alot of the game at work. i shouldn’t really say weasel, it just worked out…of course the only night i want to be in high limit, so i can watch the game, i’m not. but i ended up being an extra because they didn’t open my table, so that meant i got to assist on roulette near the bar, and watch the rest of the 1st period. after intermission, it was 9 and conveniently time for my break. so i got to watch half the 2nd on break, then back to roulette for the rest of the period. then after intermission i managed to get the job of card sorter back in high limit, so i got to watch the 3rd on the nice plasma tv. then damn overtime, back to roulette for intermission, and conveniently on break again for overtime. Yay! got to see the winning goal, and everyone going crazy in the break room. trying to find a place to go watch game 7 on thursday, that doesn’t involve me driving 11 hours to raleigh. cuz i did think about that haha.

it is so bloody hot out! gah!

no toronto today, didn’t feel like getting up, and it’s too hot. so i’ll just bum around here, and hopefully it will storm like it’s supposed to and cool things down.

oh and i have ants. lots of them. big. lots = i killed 5 yesterday. i bought ant poison trap things, but i don’t know where they are coming in from to place the traps in good spots. kitty is not doing his job of eating them. he just watches them and bats them around a bit. gross.

i had an incredible dream about getting into the richardson complex. well…it didn’t look like richardson but it was supposed to be it. but by the end of the dream we were getting caught, and getting trespassing tickets, 100$ each. hey i’d pay 100$ to get inside richardson.

things i hate about summer
1. heat
2. sun
3. humidity
4. too large of people wearing too small clothes

things i am not looking forward to this summer
1. queuing in spiral lines in 90 degree hot sun
2. fishnet tan lines (tho that may actually be cool)
3. all my summer clothes that suck, i think i grew since last summer if that is at all possible, everything is too short now

things i miss about the old townhouse
1. air conditioning
2. dishwasher
3. air conditioning
4. no upstairs neighbors

but i like my new place – even if i still haven’t unpacked the office or hung any of my posters up. i think my 70s wallpaper adds to the kitchyness of most of my decorations hahaha.

and speaking of kitch… more exploring today. went out with joe, chris, trevor and missy to hens and kellys in hamburg. they are demolishing it to build a walmart. it’s been closed for ages. the most interesting thing about it, when we walked in there was fog inside. everything is soaking wet, very humid, and it was hot outside so. fog. you just don’t see department stores like that anymore, with a section for “bras and girdles” and “mens furnishings”….it kept making me think of the britcom “are you being served?” (which i still love and is better than any crap sitcom on tv now). there were 2 chandeliers still inside, one fallen from the ceiling, which made for interesting pics in the fog. but being a department store, very few windows, and none upstairs, which meant using evil flash. so i’ve only got a few “artistic” pictures, the rest simply document it, for it’ll soon be gone.

on the way home stopped by the Ho-oats demolition by my wonderful employers. this isn’t something i was crying about along with the rest of the buffalo preservationists, because really, we can sacrifice a grain silo or 2 (i’d pick and choose my battles if decisions of this kind were up to me, and this just wouldn’t be one of them)….but seeing the demo in progress was a bit sad. interesting how it was being done though. took some pics and video, probably crap video but whatever. also went by meyer malting to see the demo progress there…the front building is half gone. no one was around, being a holiday today and all, but i was by myself at this point, and i couldn’t remember the layout inside enough to remember if i could still get other places inside with half of the front gone. oh well. i’ll have to be satisfied with the few pics i got the only time i was there. (not necessarily a building i’d normally cry about being demo-ed either, but i was only in once, and not for very long…and now that i have active exploring friends again, i had been waiting to go back.)

i’d chain myself to cargill though if there was a demo ordered for that silo.

the clintons are going to be in buffalo on wednesday. i don’t know anything about the state’s democratic convention, but i think it would be interesting to go. and i’d love to meet bill. or hillary. and plead my cause 🙂 i just want to go, gotta try to find out information about it, and postpone my possible trip up to toronto wednesday.

somewhat interestingly…maybe just to me…the man who played the principal in The Breakfast Club died…and what is interesting about it, is that he died from mesothelioma….ha. that’s what i’m going to die from. i wonder how he got exposed to asbestos. i still plan on suing SUNY geneseo when the time comes 🙂

it’s been a while..

omg trent! nin played full band version of “non entity” and “not so pretty now” at the kroq breakfast this week. gah! why couldn’t you play those songs at the spiral show! *greedy* hope for a different setlist next month tho! “non entity” very cool and different from the boom box version haha. and “not so pretty now” not at all what i was expecting it to be. it’s a fast rock song. ha. who knew. it definitely doesn’t fit in with the rest of the “with teeth” stuff…and shock of shocks i’m not sure i like it. it’s alright.

more charges from gas stations in florida on my debit card…grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

i’ve been identity thefted. someone is using my bank account to buy gasoline in west palm beach florida. spent 275$ so far. and i wondered why my account was so low. gah. stressful. i don’t know how they got my account number, as none of my cards have been stolen, and i don’t use that account number to buy things on the internet, i only use my credit card. so if they were to steal my info from internet purchases they’d be charging them, not using debit…i guess i gotta watch it now, see if anything else weird gets billed to me.

spur of the moment urbex today. chris IMed that he would be checking out the dunlop office building with his friend alex. so i went out with them around 4. cased the place a few times, not knowing where to park. once that was settled we found no way in, except this one window we kept going back to. but there was no way i’d be able to get up to it, i couldn’t even reach the ledge. we convinced chris to drop the 10 feet into the building and find something for alex and i to use to get up. and voila he produces a ladder LOL. so that was helpful. the building is rather unremarkable, but it was a nice change of pace. 3 floors of empty and retarded graffiti, most all dealing with smoking weed. it would have been a fine office building had it been kept up. now it would need alot of work and cleaning, and windows. the ladder was helpful in getting out of the building as well, since again, couldn’t reach the ledge. stopped at wendy’s for a quick snack, and home again. i was gonna clean today. maybe i should do that haha.

don’t fuck with the dippin dots

we have found the secret to the sabres success… i need to eat a large strawberry dippin dots between the 1st and 2nd period, NEVER after the 2nd. keep up with the routine and the sabres win. WOO HOO! great game again. 2nd period was exciting, goals and hitting people and all that excitement. yaay

well yesterday still sucked. went to get my hair cut and i was starving so i had some soup on the way. stomach revolted, and she kept messing with my hair and putting more stuff in it, and i was like OMG STOP ALREADY I’M DYING I NEED TO GO HOME! my hair is REALLY short now. yikes. it’ll grow back. i told her to cut alot off the back because i think it grows faster than the rest, and then i end up with a mullet, and she sure did go short in the back. whatever. so came home and drank more maalox and slept til 6. went to work and tried to eat, yuck. stayed 4 hours but by then i was feeling ok and actually wanted to eat again. i had some mashed potatoes at home before bed and now i’m 100% i’d say. except my head hurts, which means taking meds, which kill my stomach. we’ll see. sabres game tonight! woo!

the terminal this weekend was cold but i got to see joe and get updated on his whole trespassing thing from last year. it’s all settled now, which is good. a bit exorbitant fee but he’s not a criminal anymore hahaha.

what else haven’t i updated about? i dunno…

tmi

something is wrong with me. left work after 3 hours because my stomach was dying again, and all i had to drink right before was tea. went back to my game and it started to hurt, finally couldn’t take it and went to the emt’s and went home. was feeling ok after the meds started to work, and went to bed. but it came back every hour. i made myself throw up each time as it seemed to help. then i woke up around 5am with my hands and feet itching like crazy. couldn’t go back to sleep so i got up and i have a rash all over my arms and legs. it looks like razor burn and itches something fierce. i looked up stuff online but they just say you have a rash and usually it’ll go away, and if not go to the dr. then i started throwing up without having to make myself do it. yuck. i took some benedryl i had in the cabinet, maybe i’m allergic to something. or wtf kind of chemicals did we run into at spaulding? ian is sick too. must try to sleep. stupid itching gah!

thursday brought exploring with ian. started early and headed to spaulding fibre. spaulding is a HUGE complex that made…fibre? tennis balls? i dunno really. haha. they made paper for sure, but there was alot of stuff there that didn’t seem needed for making paper. including an acid room, and tons and tons of wooden vats of whatever. lots of machinery. the boiler room was most impressive, much like the flintkote machine room. veerrry pretty. saw the biggest bird ever in one of the buildings, huuuge wing span. and a squirrel. and a groundhog. and a mummified cat. we spent about 4 hours there before getting lunch at royal and heading down to the terminal for the board meeting. drove by transfig to see the status, and ian wandered in the terminal during the meeting. after, went to REA real quick, then cased the psych center. i didn’t get followed by security this time haha. back to my house we hung out and i showed him the horror that was the discovery channel urban exploration show on buffalo. hung out some more, crashed, and he left not too long ago. i took a total of 1 film picture LOL, but pretty much filled my 512 card.

one of my grandmas lungs is completely gone to cancer. that’s not a huge surprise, given that she’s smoked her whole life. what is weird though, is that through all the medical scares of the past 15 years (intestinal hernia or something, dislocated shoulder, broken hip, congestive heart failure…she had total medical check ups last year) they didn’t find it, or even think to look….??? so it’s a matter of time now, but her heart is “fine” so it’s not like she’s going to die tomorrow. i think she’s 80 so it’s not a huge sad deal or anything. it’s just aging.

the tournament was pretty neat. different. very much less stressful and people aren’t really mean (just one guy really). worked 4-11 and then we went out for drinks on 3rd street. tony met up after class ended and it was a nice time. and i had 4 drinks and was not even buzzed. it was funny to be drinking with people who took me to the hospital last time hahahahaha. it may become a monthly thing again, so if i get included it will be nice to have an early night right before my “weekend” once in a while without getting docked on pay haha.

the new plan for tickets is…besides me and phill trying for tickets, carlo who was going to be getting his own is now going to try to get 4 too, and if any of us get 4, we’re sharing with each other…any extras we sell. hoping at least one of us, or one of phill’s 3 other people trying for us will get some. god it’s like u2 all over again haha
